This is the male coming in to the female for whoopie - notice his talons are fully retracted for this !

This is my first attempt at using the Canon 400mm f4 DO lens with the Sony A9. I am using the 7 Atrisians adapter to make this happen - so far so good. I tried the Sigma MC 11 but it would NOT work with the 400 DO version I ...8-(

This is 1/1250, f4, ISO 100 ! late afternoon light over my shoulder.......

A magnificent capture I have some by me, but due to a swamp which surrounds their annual nesting platform, all my shots are basically at the very limit of my 150-600mm telephoto, so 😖😖😖
