I am almost 68 and I have been shaving with a double edge razor since I was 17. Carried one in the military for 26 years and used a lot of different razors and blades. My grandfather gave me a Gillette adjustable double edge razor the day before I left for basic training and I used it for many years. I still have it. I have shaved every morning since then, usually immediately after or during my morning shower.

Several years ago I purchased a German made Merkur double edge. This is probably one of the best razors I have ever used. It is solid and very well built. It is different from the Gillette razors in that it is a two piece razor rather than one piece. A little awkward at first but nothing you cannot handle. Not many men in the US still use the double edge razor but apparently they are still popular in many areas overseas so blades are readily available online.

Check them out on Amazon or just google double edge razors and you will find many online stores selling the Mekur brand and others along with blades and other accessories. Be careful though, there are a lot of cheap ones that are low quality. The Mekur is one of the top brands today.

However, for the last 6 months I have been experimenting with an electric razor. I thought I would never like them but I can foresee the time as I get older when failing eyesight and shaky hands may make bringing a very sharp blade close to my face and neck a dangerous option. I purchased a Panasonic electric and have been pleasantly surprised. It is much faster than a razor shave and almost as good.

Also, as I have a medium to heavy beard, it is very easy to touch or clean up if we go out in the evening. I have had the Panasonic electric razor for almost a year and so far it has held up very well. Not as cheap on a per shave basis as the double edge razor but if I can keep it going for at least a couple of years before replacement, I think it will be worth it. The convenience of being able to shave at any time or place is its greatest asset.

Here's a question that I have asked myself many times. Perhaps you may want to ask yourself as well.

"How much money (of yours or of others) would you spend to get the job you have or had?"

Well, a Congressman or Senator politician spends millions of dollars in mostly contributions to get a job that pays $174,000 a year. Sounds quite strange to me and this is not taking any political party side for they are all the same.

Then...spend millions more of other peoples contributions each time that they come up for re-e******n.

So..."How much money was contributed by others to you to get your job and to keep your job?"

Many years ago during my childhood there was a campaign in the U.S. to switch to the metric system.
Unfortunately it was shot down. Had it happened, we would be in line with the rest of the world and everyone that was opposed to it would likely be dead by now or close to it.

On a related note: a simple conversion to do in your head to get a ballpark figure is to double the centigrade temperature and add 30. To get a precise conversion multiply by 1.8 and add 32.

The woman rushed down to the man, and immediately began to apologize. “Please allow me to help. I’m a physical therapist and I know I could relieve your pain if you’d allow me,” she told him.
“Oh, no, I’ll be all right. I’ll be fine in a few minutes,” the man replied.
It was obvious that he was in agony, lying in the fetal position, still clasping his hands together at his groin.
The female golfer/therapist urged him to let him help him, so at her persistence, he finally allowed her to help.
She gently took his hands away and laid them to his side, loosened his pants and put her hands inside. She administered tender and artful massage to his privates for several long moments and then asked, “How does that feel”?
