So it's basically the people who have tried them & can't use them so have gone back to a mouse that don't like them.
I know there not for everybody, a lot of people just can't get there head around it.

I use both. I use the pen for precise work like masking and blending and more. I use the pen and large Wacom tablet left-handed: the mouse with my right.

An unexpected benefit of my pen is the ability to do puzzles much faster! :)

I'm the same pen in left hand, I'm left handed & mouse in the right if I need it.
I totally agree to use the larger of the tablets.

I do find your post interesting because you are so sure and I am not so sure! I have always used a mouse because it gives me the advantage of a 27 inch screen to work on. I have always imagined this to be better than a 5x7 inch pad. I am prepared to be convinced otherwise if the arguments are good so I look forward to reading replies. Thank you for your post.

You are still working on the whole 27in screen you are just using the tablet instead of a mouse pad, & I would use a little bigger tablet.
Hope that helps you understand them a bit more,
Thanks for the input.

After watching Jerry's post that he needs a new mouse has got me surprised & thinking how many of you guys & gals use what & why. I think there was one that said used a pen.
Anybody that takes photo editing the slightest bit serious would use a pen. If your using Photoshop or any other of the many programs out there a pen is it full stop.
You would never see a professional or even keen editor use a slow cumbersome mouse.
I read here everyday how much people spend on photography equipment & that they are going to persist till they learn why & how to use it.
To me the PP is as important as the camera work & I know most of you would improve your work flow out of site.
Please let me know what you think, I'm guessing I'm in a very small minority.
Cheers !

But they use wires. I'll have to find my son's tablet and try that. I think it's a Wacom Bamboo.

Only one, USB from the back of the tablet, the larger size Bamboo is what I use.

I gave my son one for Christmas a few years ago, and it's still in the box. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Get it out Jerry & use it exclusively for a fortnight, you will probably think it sucks at first, most people do, but if you persist with it it will become so natural, it's awesomely fast & accurate, you need to set it to pen mode not mouse mode so wherever you touch it on the tablet it directly relates to that spot on your screen, if you can understand that.
I can not believe that on a photography site where most people do at least some kind of editing that everyone uses last century's old technology of a cumbersome mouse !
Cheers mate !

I wouldn't exactly call that venomous. Do they morph into a nice butterfly or a dud ?

No offense taken. Thank you. Did you use LR on the before shot or the after shot?

I was trying to create that "grunge" look by enhancing the details. Your rendition is great, but that's not the look I was going for. Thanks for your feedback.

I used the original, I didn't know you where looking for grunge, if that's the case good job.

This is a single exposure HDR. Not really true to the art, but I thought it looked cool. Let me know if I just botched it. :-)

I really hope you don't mind but I think it looks terrible, this is about a minute in Lightroom. Please don't take it as offensive for putting this on your post.
Cheers !

For those of you that use 500px, do you have any idea as to what their algorithm might be to accumulate and progress to "popular" and "upcoming"? I have heard that posting your images a bit after midnight gives your images the best shot at being seen by many and thus a higher chance for votes and likes. Also, not sure if it is just me, but everyone's work on there seems to be a lot more vibrant, "alive" and has that pop to it. I uncerstand that it might be PP techniques but I am an intermediate to advanced user of LR5 and I feel as though my images lack somewhat of this vibrancy (and I love contrast). I love my images so I am happy with them but I am always looking to improve. Finally, for those on here who think I am "self promoting" by bringing up 500px again, please do not chime in. I don't need it. Thanks hogs
For those of you that use 500px, do you have any i... (show quote)

Hey mate it's a bit after midnight 24 hours a day somewhere, but I have noticed certain times get a lot more looks but I can't remember when, haven't upload for months.
It is a very good website to show some photos.

Agreed. That's why, when I converted my BR system to use the strap lugs, I got a second connector and used both of the lugs. Nor BR is bringing out a safety strap; maybe I should connect one to the tripod socket of my camera - just in case...... 8-) 8-) 8-)

Good work, I like a thinker !
