Well this is interesting. After the computer did the very lengthy Win 10 update, the calculator now appears on the screen when I press the Calculator button, although it looks different from the one on my other computer.

I like the convenience of just hitting the button on the keyboard and getting the calculator, rather than having to get it from the Taskbar or use a calc on my desk.

What really annoys me is people like you spitting out all these nonsense and wrong information as fact. I just picture a Canon engineer falling to the floor laughing after reading this post.

Because it becomes a trend. I voiced an opinion. Its not any personal attack. Funny how political correctness becomes some kind of censorship.

I don't understand why you would set up a C (user-programmable custom) mode with HDR...

Every HDR shot has to be differently exposed. You wouldn't want the same bracketing and other factors applied to it every time. So you'd basically need to change and modify the C-mode every time you went to make an HDR shot, wouldn't you? I just suspect it would be more trouble to have a C-mode for it, than it's worth!

That is not really the question I want to know why I can't do it, and maybe you are on to something and that is why you can't program it I just want to know
Thanks for your answer

I do too have HDR Mode in "My Menu" as well, but jast as quick way to get in to HDR mode. I have not set-up the parameters, as they will change from shot to shot ( I do not shoot all HDR's with the same settings). Maybe there is something I do not know of that's blocking the parameters. But since I shoot HDR's different each time, it does not concern me, but it does provide quick access to the HDR Mode when shooting. (set-up in there is fast)!
Sorry if this in of no help!

Like I said the HDR in the C mode works fine it is when I want to add the effect to it is blocked or not available
Thanks for trying to help

That is indeed strange, but did you remember that you can only put six items into "MY Menu", if you already have 6 Menu items, you'll have to delete one and replace it with the new?

Yes that is correct
I have no problem setting up HDR in there but when I try to add the effect into it as well that option is not there anymore

I don't really know why you're having problems. You open the SET UP4 menu and click the Custom Shooting Mode (C1-C3) option. Click the Register Setting option, then decide on which Custom Shooting Mode you want this collection of configuration data saved. That's all there's to it. But you can set it up also in the "My Menu"!!

Did you try that because when I do these settings the C program is no longer available
And when I go into my menu and set it in there it will not hold these settings

Even in England? What about "near side" and "off side"? :D

Just because you move the steering wheel does not mean that your right side now becomes your left side

See, I told you it was confusing. :D

Do you mean the left when you're facing the car or when you're sitting inside? :D

Right and left is always when sitting in the drivers seat that is the standard rule

Yeah, that can be confusing. Years ago, Chrysler used reversed threads on the lugnuts on the right side of their cars. That resulted in a lot of broken studs.

Sorry but it was right hand on the right and left hand thread on the left

Hi Dave! Good for you. Going back to the family is going to be great!!! When I was a young man I did weddings and anything else I could with a camera. But when Janny wanted kids I had to give it up. The small towns around us could not support a family and the Doctor bills. We lost 6 babies. But ended up with 2 wonderful boys. But I became a workaholic trying to get all the bills paid off. And stayed that way till both of my boy got through college 8 years ago. I got them through school without taking out loans. Some times I am sorry I missed so much of the kids playing and doing things with them. But they both know what and why I did it and are very thankful. In 2 years I will be retired and Janny and I are going to see the country. And my boys say they will meet us out on the road and join us when they can. This will be my second chance to get to know them!!! You are going to love retirement!!!! Enjoy those kids!!!!!!

I have no idea why so many people try to discourage newbies from buying high end cameras, if that's what they want. It's like telling someone not to buy a Corvette because all they ever drove previously was a pickup truck. If you have an interest in learning how to use a camera, any camera, then there is no reason not to try. There are endless resources available, many free, to provide you with the info and techniques necessary. The only people I would try to discourage are the ones who can't afford to buy high end gear, and nobody on here knows who those people are. If you have the interest and can afford it, then buy what you want. You will probably save money by not going through several lesser cameras before you get to the one you want. You have already learned that, so you are one step up. Enjoy your camera!

I completely agree

Care to explain?

Nikon tells you who can sell and for how much and if you don,t follow their rules you lose the dealer ship and if somebody that is not a dealer sells it, it is called grey market and they won't repair it. I call that price fixing
