Sure don't want to cut that up and serve it. A work of IMHO. Happy Birthday!

Hey very good. This is Red Skelton humour if my memory is right.

So, as it turns out this IS a true Canon camera. It is in fact a T50 branded T-5 for sale only though US Military. The seller provided photos of a water damaged user manual. It has the same cover as the T-50 manual with the exception that the "T-50" on the corner was filled with a black box with T-5 in it. Never the less $499.99 US still seems to be rather exorbitant a price. It won't show up in my collection.

Thanks MT, so it seems this is a genuine article.

Your T5 is indeed a Canon manufactured body. It is a special issue of the T50 that was intended only for sale through US Military PX outlets. The Kalimar lens is not original as the T5 came with a Canon FD 50mm F1.8 lens attached. The Kalimar was obviously added by the seller or a previous owner.

Thanks GC, my searches turned up nothing at all except for the digital T-5. I am familiar with the T-50.

That's exactly why my suspicions are.

I can tell just by the picture that it is some kind of cheap counterfeit knock-off of a Canon. Wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole, unless it cost $5.00 and I wanted a novelty.

I was browsing eBay and found this camera for sale at a price of $499.99. The seller states that it is very rare. In all accompanying photos it appears legit. It's basic characteristics appear similar to the T70 and T50 models.
However I was unable to locate any information on the internet related to this model. It does not even appear on Canon's camera museum web site.
Has anyone ever seen one of these?

A hood? There was no hood specific to this lens according to the user sheet I have with mine.

San-Disk and Kingston both have excellent software for this. I'm sure other manufacturers do as well.
Don't do anything with the SD until you have the software installed and running. This will increase the odds of recovering all files on it.

I've registered all of my gear on LensTag. It's free and easy, they have an Ap for smart phones that can quickly and easily retrieve your full gear list. This list shows the make and model of your lenses, bodies and any other gear registered. While it's not as extensive as "My Gear Vault" it still allows quick and easy access to your gear and serial numbers.

Ever hear about the blonde who was having trouble with her mouse. Yep, she called tech support because when the mouse reached the top of her mouse pad the pointer wouldn't get to the top of the screen.
