Mine aren't long, certainly not more than 10'. The wires stay connected, but the connection gets lost, like today for example. I had to unplug and re-plug to get the speakers working. I'm using a 6' version of the one below.

Everything operates with USB connections these days, and that's a big improvement over serial and parallel cables. One big problem, though, is being able to connect all the USB devices. I use hubs when I can, but sometimes, I need a USB extension cord. The problem is that the connections fail periodically, and I have to find the connection point, unplug and re-plug. I've tried quite a few extension cords, and they all fail occasionally. Maybe there is some kind of goo I can put in the connection to maintain contact.

So - goo recommendations?

I posted yesterday that my son inadvertently updated to Win11. It took a looong time to roll back to Win10. This morning, it's back to Win11, and he can't connect to the Internet. The message said something about "side-to-side" in the Users folder. "Use sxst...exe" I wasn't able to start sxst..., whatever that is. So now, we're waiting and waiting for it two revert back to Win10. Will it continue to revert to Win11?

EDIT: Follow-up. The switch-back went quickly this time, barely fifteen minutes. The electricity flicked off a couple of times, but it turned out all right - APC UPS. His Internet problem was only for Chrome, so now he's sing Edge, like me.
