Just got caught up with the editing of a few games back.
Here are the some of the results.

Nikon D4
Nikon 70-200 2.8 75% of the shots
24-70 2.8 Near or under the basket
Auto Iso
Auto white balance on the warm side.
1/1000 at wide open

Tomorrow afternoon I am going to try about 12 or so shots with the shutter at 1/1250 which will drive the iso up. The school I will shoot at has pretty good lighting. I will check throughout the trying out section on the higher iso and see the noise difference. Of course when I get home and run the shots through the computer I may have a different take on the subject. I got the information from some great shooters at Maxpreps. We shall see, I was taught lower the iso the better. Hell I don't know I am always looking for a better way, a new way, or the highway. Just couldn't resist the last line.

Thanks Paul, getting use to basketball again. Been a long year. Timing is off some.

Another great set of sports captures Jules, you really captured some great moments - I think the WB was moving around on you but typical I also get that for these dungeon gyms we shoot in. 1/1000 or 1/1250 for indoor, I sometimes use both and especially with volleyball I'll go to 1/1250. If the shots are not tight at high ISO, the images need to be salvaged in Topaz (and that's 50-50). For basketball, I've seen a few shots with motion blur (high school level) and now that you mentioned the 1/3rd stop speed increase to 1/1250, I may try it at my basketball games tonight along with a custom white balance using my 18% grey card (I have expodisc's which would work on my 70-200mm but not my 300mm).

Thanks so much Rick. Busy editing a couple of games last night. Looked at your last bb gallery, looks very good indeed.
Be well,
Jules
