A while ago, I mentioned that ON1 offers something new for sale every few weeks. What I should also have mentioned is the free add-ons they give to owners of their programs. I currently have 96 zipped files from ON1, consisting of several programs each, and they were all free. That's something to keep in mind if you're considering buying ON1. Every month, they give you free add-ons.

I have been using ON1 for years and I think it's the best. It's simple and has most of the bells and whistles that PS has without all the confusing gyration that you need to do in PS. I have a ton of ON1 presets, brushes, backgrounds and textures that they give to customers monthly. Great photography webinars too.

I'm new to ON1.
You can import a photo and edit it. Or you can just edit the photo. (with out importing)
My question is why import?

Thanks.

I'm not sure of your question. ON1 is not like Lightroom where you have to download to LR catalog. In ON1 you can access your photos from your computer directly or you can set up a catalog in ON1. Check out ON1 webpage. https://www.on1.com/videos/getting-started-with-on1-photo-raw-360/

I am thinking of buying this lens and would appreciate your opinions. I have read the reviews and done comparisons but now I would like some real feedback! I would use it for street and landscape.

I have been using the 70-300 on my Sony a7RIV for a year and really enjoy using it. I'm into urban, architectural and landscape photography and it suits my needs. I use it in conjunction with my Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 and they are a great combo.

I am running ON1 Photo RAW 2021 build 15.5.1.10782 on an iMac Big Sur Version 11.5.2 Retina 5K, 27-inch late 2014 computer 4 GHz quad-Core Intel Core i7 memory 32GB Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB.

I run a number of applications including Adobe Photoshop CC (Subscription Model), Affinity, Exposure Z6 and Luminar AI. All these applications work fine.

When I open On1 as a stand alone application and chose a photo to work on at any point and time ON1 will crash. What I mean by that I could be on the Edit panel or the Filter panel and for no reason the application crashes.

I tried reloading the application from their site with the same results. I ran a virus scan on the computer with nothing showing up. I opened a help ticket which is not answered by them. I am at loos as to whatever to do about it. Each time it happens I send the crash log out.

If you submit this to On1 support they can check the LOG and see if there is a reason.

I have had good responses from ON1 Support and I use it as a stand alone product for years. Have you updated your graphic driver lately. That is one of the problems that may be causing your issue but I'll let Support answer your problem.

Let me start out saying I love ON1 Photo RAW 2021.5. I had an issue the other day and posted in the Windows Discussion Group on the ON1 webpage. Technical support got right back to me with this answer which solved the problem.

Do you have the Fast Panning option turned on? It's in Preferences > System. It will do less rendering of the image as you are scrolling through the image view leaving it blurry looking while you are panning.

Have you added an SSD for the program's Scratch Space? That will get you one of the biggest improvements in performance.

I just received my SmallRig L bracket yesterday for my A7RIV. I have been using SmallRig for a while and very happy with the quality and price. It costs around $59 and it will delivered in about 1-2 weeks.

I use Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 as my walk around lens on my a7RIV. It is a great lens, half the weight and half the price of a similar Sony lens. I also have the 17-28mm f2.8, 70-180mm f2.8 and 70-300mm Tamron lenses. All have the same barrell size so my lens filters fit all my lenses.

I have been using ON1 RAW for years and I love it. I use a Windows computer with a pretty good graphics card and plenty of RAM so I have not had any problems with the software crashing (only on rare occasions) I have a good friend that is still using ON1 2010 and his work is incredible. ON1 2021 gives you the best of Lightroom and Photoshop but a lot easier to use. I give ON1 two thumbs up.

I would recommend an a7RIII. It has 42 megapixel and the EVF is much better. I use Tamron lenses, 17-35, 28-75 and 70-300 and they are incredible on this camera.
