Great tips! I have one question. Your point #8-
"When you can, shoot at your camera's base ISO, or at the lowest ISO possible for the situation."
seems counter intuitive. Today's high-end DSLRs have very good noise control. I cannot tell the difference between something shot at ISO 100 and ISO 400 and the two stops of additional shutter speed could be a significant contributor to assuring greater image sharpness, even if some noise is introduced, it is easier to correct that than fixing unsharp images. To that end, I often use "Auto Iso" and a shutter speed at least the recipricol of the lens.

Yes, Irfanview is excellent! It is the bets program I've found for removing spots.
Jerry, I've looked art every menu and can't find anything referencing 'spot removal'. Where is it?
Does anyone know of an SD or micro SD card adapter that will work in an XQD card slot (D850 or Z6)? I've used micro sd card adapters to SD format and SD to CF adapters but nothing for XQD slots.

yes, it is available. As far as payment, PayPal is easiest. Do you have an account? If not, it is easy to set up or you can just send a check. Let me know what you prefer. I expect the book rate for shipping will be slightly less than $5. Please send me your name and mailing address. My email is ckeever1@gmail.com

Point Lobos is just south of Carmel which is about 2 hours south of San Francisco. Pt Reyes is about an hour and a half north of San Francisco. Google Inverness, CA which is just outside of Pt Reyes Nat'l Seashore. Inverness is a quaint bed n breakfast little town and where the photo was taken. Note that the boat was badly damaged by a photographer per the article referenced in another post. Also the ability to recreate the shot originally posted is dependent on extreme tides which occur in the spring and fall.
