I just noted a case which many of the hoggers may be interested in. It is out of the Texas Court of Appeals, 1st District. I have attached the courts opinion.

Before you do anything drastic, mount the camera and lens on a tripod and shoot a batch at various apertures and speeds. Use both manual and automatic focus. Use the timer on the camera to fire the camera. Check the results for sharpness.

Hawkeye, the Canon T2i is a great camera. It was my second DSLR. I still have it and use it. I bought several other cameras because I needed (read "wanted") certain additional characteristics that the T2i did not have. Three frames per second was a bit slow for horseracing so I bought a Pentax KR. I have since acquired a Pentax K5 and a Sony A6000. Those of us who enjoy photography as a hobby and recreational sport, have learned that the eye behind the camera is the most important element in a good photo. The T2i is still in the stable and does get a workout on occasion. I have learned that almost all cameras manufactured in the last several years are very capable of doing what most of us want them to do. …….Take good pictures! Shop around and you will probably find some very good deals. I bought the kit lenses, EFS 18-55mm, EFS 55-250mm, 50mm 1.8 and for travel, a Tamron 18-270mm. Good lenses are available and sometimes the "hunt" is just as pleasurable as the "kill"! Dave Busch wrote several very good books on the T2i and I am sure that some used copies are available on EBAY at reasonable prices. Good luck and enjoy!

In anticipation of Memorial Day, I took a drive to the local Naval Golf Course. I had a memory of some memorials from my futile days playing golf. Even when sailors take time to relax and play, they still remember those who went before them. I noted a rather unique naval vessel on a sea of green. I was moved and wanted to share. To those that served, thank you! To those that serve, thank you!

The Sony website instruction and Brian Smith's site both say that the firmware upgrade should be installed using the Sony data cable. Smith says to use the Sony cable which I do not have. Can I use any data cable or is it possible to transfer the upgrade from a memory SD card?

Dear Oldie:

If the lense has a flange that is not on the more recent K lenses, you will need to remove the flange. It is not a difficult procedure. I did it to one of my older lenses, a little hacksaw work and it works. Don't forget to block the lense cavity so shavings don't get in.

I have the same Canon package. I also added the 50mm to the bag. The 18-55 is just another paintbrush in the box. All lenses are tools. Use the lense and see what it can do and what you can do with it. Sometimes you will like it and sometimes another lense may be to your liking.

When I purchased my first pistol, I took a handgun class give by one of the local police departments. I was so proud of myself that I told my wife that she should learn how to use the pistol. In order to accomplish this, I volunteered to teach her everything that I had just learned. I took her to a local gun range and proceeding to display my newly acquired expertise. Doggone it, she turned out to be a better shot than me.

Does your card have a lock on possibly, which would not allow it to be firmatted.

Card was unlocked. Low battery power was the problem.

Thank you to all who read the post and responded with a contribution that makes this website so enjoyable for those who follow the photographic pleasures. Photography is my most enjoyable hobby beating out the likes of tennis, golf, stamp collecting, coin collecting, wine tasting, cooking, baking, painting (on canvas not walls), making chocolate cookies disappear and reading. …...and as Edward R. Murrow used to say...."Thank you and Good Night!"
