It would be great if any of our members with great experience in printing create a complete workflow from calibrating your monitor to how to define/use a printer profile for the chosen printing service. To me, since I switch to digital equipment, the most frustrating part is to print the image the way I see it on my monitor after all adjustments. Let's say, a practical recipe from beginning to end using samples that might be changed accordingly to your equipment and printing service.

I have looked at that lens, reviews I have seen say it is too soft. Do you own this lens, and, if yes, what has been your experience?

Sorry to meddle. I use the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary in a Nikon Z with FTZ adapter. Using mid of the ground aperture the lens is not bad. Of course it won't be fair to compare with a 5 to 10k US$ lens but depending on your need it is a pretty good bargain as you can find it new for US 799.00.

Thank you for the responses. We only know how good a company is when something goes wrong. I've rented from them before and everything was fine, but this time Fedex delayed the delivery by two days, and I missed the whole weekend since I had already traveled.

When I called Lensrental, they immediately extended the rental period with no questions asked, no forms to fill out, just plain and simple customer service.

This is great to know that many other customers have had similar experiences, and they have just won a customer for life.

Hi All;

I'm not used to praising companies when they do what they are supposed to but this past week I had an issue with Lensrental that wasn't caused by them ( but by a FedEx delay ) and end up losing an opportunity during the weekend.

I contacted Lensrental looking for a way to fix the problem and I was very pleased when the company assumed the issue and gave me the best solution I could ever imagine.

Since the solution was promptly given by Lensrental with no stress or complex requests I can only assume that it is their way of being a customer-oriented company, the type that is so difficult to find nowadays.

To Lensrental my sincere thank you and to my fellow Ugly Hedgehog members, I strongly endorse their use.

A good, low cost alternative, if you don't mind manual focus is the Laowa 105 2.8, it is cheap and for the price is really good. And if you want extreme close you can add a Raynox 250. Not the most fantastic combo but pretty decent for the price if you are not looking for a professional, pristine result.

One would think that certain members have more to contribute to the UHH community than arguing about whether to write RAW vs raw in discussing photography in 2021 ...

C'mon, this is of utmost importance. Your work quality totally depends on it.

Now, seriously, I don't see how this can be important but as a forum we must understand that we all have different ways of "seeing" things and if it does not interest you just don't click on it, otherwise we will be narrowing what it can be discussed and that is not what I think a forum should do, unless it is illegal.

Sorry to get into the thread and with a suggestion out of scope but you should try Genie9 Backup or, if you need an instant secure solution, Genie 10 Timeline. Easy to use, very good and speedy backup programs. I've been using them for a long time and they are great (disclaimer: I'm not associate to Zoolz (Genie developer) in any degree, just a happy user)

I’ve never had a problem with my WD passports. I must be lucky

Neither do I and I've been using them for over 6 years already, including as local backup for the computers in my company.

I would go with 1Tb SSD, preferable an NVME in an external case (small, light, fast, and easy to carry) as well as, for more lengthy storage with a 4Tb Western Digital Passport Ultra USB 3 (small and secure - hardware encrypted). There is a Plus model without the hardware encryption if you don't need or want it. The WD Passport series has the advantage of not needing a power brick using power from the computer USB port. Of course drives sizes here are only the most common ones as you can have SSD's of 120, 240, 512, 1Tb, etc... it is up to you to decide what size you need.

The best tool is the one you know how to use... get the one you like and learn to use it fully and you will be ok.
I'm a Nikonian since 1975 and never thought about changing, with time you find how to master what the brand has best and to overcome any limitation.
Cheers
