Taken on a stormy day in September 2014 in North Beach, MD.
Good Morning,
I live in North Beach, MD. The Best Buy you were talking about...is it the one off of RT 175?
You may be used to Canon... But the Sony A77II is a class leader and you can get a new one for less than $900.00
I checked out the prices and the cheapest I could find in the NYC stores was $1,500. Where can you find a new one for less than $900????
Don't forget, you need a lens, which drives the price up to $1,500.

What are you calling inferior? PaintShopPro is NOT an inferior package!! Besides, if we spend the kind of money necessary to get a good camera we shouldn't NEED super expensive software!!
Buy your camera and gear, learn how to properly use it and there will be very little need for super-special post processing software!!

I have several issues working against me... I'm old; I can't afford pricey software; I don't understand many of the terms / processes in PhotoShop, Lightroom, etc. I use Picasa because it's free from Google. I don't want to spend a lot of time away from the camera while doing PP on my 'puter. Should I spend the bucks for PS and learn it or is Picasa okay? Recommendations, please!?!?!?
I have used Picasa ever since it came out. It works for me.

Amazon is offering a free, no limits, access to their cloud for storing your photo. In order to use it, you have to have a Prime membership.

I have been dealing with B&H for decades. They are the experts on customer service. I am going to drive up there from Maryland just to go into the store.

I bought the exact same thing, Canon doesn't send hot shoe covers. The problem it kept falling off. Sigh!

Canon is releasing the grip by mid-November, I am sure that the usual 3rd. party companies will be following after soon enough.
Hopefully a compatable battery will also follow, as well as a screen protector for the LCD screen.
UPS just brought the massive new Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens for Nikon. I'm so excited and am going out to shoot. Will post some pics later.
Enjoy!!
The little brown truck came, I signed and its all mine (after I pay for it).
One warning that has nothing to do with the operation of the camera which after a cursory examination is fantastic.
I thought I would be ahead of the game and I bought a LDC screen protector (2 actually). I bought the one for the Canon 7D, after all, why wouldn't they be the same size. Well, Canon fooled me, the top screen protector fits fine, the back LCD screen protector does not. It is about 1/16 of an inch too short, length wide and about the same height wise.
So, a warning to the wise should be sufficient. We will just have to wait until they can manufacture the LCD screen protector specifically for the 7D Mk II.
I pre-ordered the 7D from B&H on October 2nd. I received a notice from UPS that I will receive the camera tomorrow. Very impressed with B&H.
