Lots of good information here to help me improve, looking forward to participating and getting some CC's on my photos.
Welcome. I visit my daughter who lives in your State twice a year and enjoy all the photo ops you have You will find, as you probably have, that this site is alive with experienced photographers who love to share their knowledge.

Op/Tec, longer bouncier, wider, I like it better, Bob.

I have one and love it. It connects to the camera using one or two of the lugs rather than the tripod connection which I don't consider strong enough to hold a large camera and a long lens.

That's the way I do it.

Me too, I just don't like the idea of the tripod hole holding the weight of the entire camera, that is what the lugs are for.

And then there are a variety of brands that I've never heard of before that cost less or offer better performance for the same price. For example, Silicon Power makes a 64GB 85MB/s card that sells for $25.

Thanks!
I always use Lexar, but I never use anything over 32GB. I would rather carry a couple more SD cards than lose one with 128GB worth of pictures.

Why would IS help in any sport setting?? Any time I've shot sports of any sort, I've had to use a shutter speed high enough that IS doesn't add anything.

Excellent point!

I have a T3i.

If I wanted to upgrade my APS-C sensor based camera to allow me to avoid purchasing new lenses what camera body would you recommend?

Agree with those who say Canon 7D Mark II if budget isn't a consideration. Canon rumor says that a new T6i is coming out soon, may want to wait for that. Good luck.
