Another single image HDR using NIK softwares SilverEfex.
NIK software has a wonderful HRD plug-in for single images. Worth every penny. The Complete Collection is also amazing... giving you complete control over every part of your image, from noise, general tweaking, HDR, and a terrific black and white plug in. It's expensive, but worth every penny. Attached is a seascape where I used NIKs HDR plug-in.
Great stuff! Like old time photojournalism. Black and white adds quite a bit of drama and "art" feeling. Loved them all, but the horn and bench really stands out.
Thought yours was fine... especially the green on the left for depth. However, pbmelvin really did a nice job!
Thanks English Wolf! Makes sense.

I'm not sure what you are saying... never had HDR create halos before. As I said, only very minor HDR adjustments were made. I think you are mistaking a "glow" from the water (the sun was reflecting on the alligator) for the halo.
That halo was in the original exposure! Never really noticed it until your note. Strange, to say the least!
I have had very good luck with the Tamron 10-24. Use it on a Canon 60D.
He's actually one of our members!
Thanks Mike! Looks like good info.

xpane... As it was just a test, I used the Canon 18-55 kit lens. Did not record the settings.
Finally tried PhotoShop's Photo Merge. Worked quite well! I adjusted perspective and horizon using "warp". It takes some practice but the results are worth it. This one covers an entire par 5 golf hole... about 1/4 mile from edge to edge.
Took this on our golf course. Raw file with a hint of NIK HDR adjustments. Canon 60D with Tamron 70-200 2.8. Comments???
I tried Topaz Adjust, but found the NIK Complete Collection to be much more versatile. Great software!!!
love the first one!!! Really nice.
