They should have said, "A good lens helps good photographers to sometimes take great photographs!"

Shooting store window displays from the sidewalk works better at night because the reflected light from the sky is much less.

Sometimes we forget the "law of unintended consequences." Super-duper cameras may make tomorrow's photographers lazy. Yes, great pictures sometimes are just sitting there. Nonetheless, art requires a human mind at its best along with hard work. Great images are probably more often created in the mind before the shot is taken, not that I've ever taken any. The one advantage of old-fashioned cameras of yesteryear is that they slowed the photographer down, perhaps encouraging the taking of notes in a notebook on camera settings, dates and times, and location details. I often take the lazy approach and fire off several dozen or more photos on a walking trip instead of sitting on a portable chair and looking at a scene for say 20 minutes before I take any pictures. People were less likely to take "fast" photos when they had to pay for the film and the processing (law of unintended consequences again). Admittedly, I've learned things by being able to shoot many photos and see them immediately.

Was in Jacksonville last year on my way to St. Augustine

Nice day near the bus terminal (I got on the bus shown here, I think)

Thanks for the responses. But the idea was to use different Canon lenses with the bellows for creative effects beyond simply getting close to a subject.

I would like to use a Minolta Bellows III I once bought for a Minolta film camera. I have the adapter that connects Minolta lenses to my Canon digital camera. But I can't seem to find sellers for the reverse adapter (Canon lens to Minolta body) that would fit on the front end of the bellows.

I believe it's better to get things done in the camera as much as possible. After-the fact-adjustments (e.g., color temperature) are sometimes wonderful but you also sometimes pay a price in basic picture qualities when those adjustments are extreme.

I've never taken pinhole photographs and am wondering about their mechanics and benefits. Are there any good pinhole kits for Canon cameras, in my case a 7D?
