I shoot Raw, how do u know? It says I SHOOT RAW on my tshirt.
I bought an extra memory card to take with me when Im traveling.
I have a Nikon which saves in RAW and JPG at the same time ( if I want) that really fills the card.

I found a codec from Microsoft so now I can just bring up RAW files in windows and I dont need any extra software. Here is something to think about though. If you have a RAW pic and then save it later as a JPG lots of the original data will be gone.Once I process a file I Save it as a TIFF file instead , it doesn't use compression so the original data is saved. I only use JPG if Im sending a pic to someone or putting it on line.

CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is good, it helps us all learn more about our craft or hobby. Its the people that dont know how to offer CONSTRUCTIVE criticism , the ones that have negative things to say and then dont tell you how to correct the problem. They are the ones I dont want to hear from.
Move your subject more to the right, a little less sky, the focal point is on his shirt instead of his face. these all help. Oh I love your pic!!! that doesn't help a bad shot. Or my favorite, when I asked a question about one of my shots, I was told" go read your owners manual " That certainly didn't help. Fortunately the next response was, check your white balance that helped.

I guess MY wifes suggestion is a LOT better than DaveO's wife. Im now thinking , I can somehow mount a light on it and move it around my studio ( my dark scarey basement with the big spiders and mice and rats and maybe even haunted
)

While cleaning the basement I came across an old tripod.
Its metal and one of the legs is bent and if you can collapse
the legs its almost impossible to open them again.
So My question is, what should I do with it. Im thinking about
cutting the legs down so it sits very low to the ground for taking close up pictures of flowers, bugs etc. how high would you make the camera off of the ground,
Or do you have any other ideas what to do with it. ( no Im not throwing it away my wife already suggested that)

Thanks you everyone for responding. I downloaded Irfanview and irfanview thumbnails I also downloaded faststone image viewer and I found the codec for my computer, as it turns out I had the x86 codec installed and needed the AMD codec.
All well worth downloading and i'll try each out for a few days and see how I like them. Again thanks!

NEF Files are Nikon Electronic Files. I can of course open them with the supplied Nikon software as well as PS.
My question is, is there a small program that will show me a thumb nail of that pic as I move thru my directories of photos?
the way Windows shows me my JPG files.
Yes I know Bridge will show me, but I dont like how you move thru directories using bridge. Currently my camera saves in RAW and JPG at the same time so that I can see the Thumb Nail
the problem with this, it takes too long for the camera to save two versions .

In the pic you'll see that the silows on the left lean to the right and the ones on the right lean to the left. Can I do something with the camera to correct this, I have a D5200
