2 and 3 not to bad at all.
Thanks for your comments. I'm going to practice practice practice.

Very nice. Were they conversions or shot that way?

I've been wanting to try my hand at B&W photography. These are some of my first in that format.

I'm thinking the bars referred to are metaphorical. In that sense, they are hard to miss.
Wonderful shot. B & W is the way to go. I believe it gives the photo a more somber feel than if it was done in color. Excellent capture. Thanks too for the narration on the struggle to get it. I'm sure you must feel a sense of great accomplishment. If not, you should.
Graham, I've been admiring your work in the last couple of months since I joined UHH. You have a gift for finding great characters to shoot. I'm truly a newbie to photography, but you have motivated me to try my hand at B&W. In time, hopefully I can also try street photography as well. Thank you for your great posts.
I think you could find many people on here who've had missed photo opportunities. I myself have missed out on 2 fantastic chances just in the last month, that will never be recreated because I just can't be taking my camera with me everywhere. On the other hand, I had one very serendipItous occasion where I was in the right place at just the right time. Fate can be extremely fickle my friend.

The question should be what union were you in, wildman, that they told you how to vote?

You were "told how how and who you should vote for" by where the bulk of your union dues go. And it ain't going to the girl scouts!
You must not be a union member. The "bulk" of our union dues does not go to political causes. A small percentage does, yes, and if I could change that to zero, I would. And by no means does a portion of my dues being used that way mean that I am being told how to vote.
I don't know if this is helpful at all, but even with a broadband connection, I find that uploading photos takes time and you just have to have patience. If you look closely you may see an indicator that the upload is in progress. I just walk away and come back in 5 to 10 minutes.
I'm in central Iowa and have only seen them once, about 25 yrs ago. They are truly amazing to see.

Yes, I am a UAW member.
I will say that the aims and goals of the UAW align more with those of the democratic party, therefore I more often than not vote democrat, but have also voted republican when the candidate deserves it. I will not let anyone tell me I have to vote for a certain person though.
As a union member, I have never been told how I should think or vote. You are uninformed.
