On the spur of the moment, my wife and I decided to drive to Jackson Hole, WY this past Friday morning. I had been wanting to take photos of some of the iconic spots in this park and possibly get some "blue hour" photos of the moon setting over the Teton's with the Moulton barn in the foreground. Had actually wanted to do this before the government shut-down.

Anyhow, after taking photos Sat. morning went into town and went to breakfast with the wife. We decided to go back into the park for more photo ops when we came upon a grizzly bear crossing the road in front of us. The bear went out about 30 yds. from the road and started feeding on a road kill for the next few hours....got about 70 photos and thought I'd post a few here.

Photos taken with a Nikon D5100 and 70-300 lens

Went up to Snowbird Ski Resort today and took a few photos. We had snow night before last and it really makes the colors 'pop'.

Hey 4X4...Thanks for taking the time to respond with the info on these vehicles.

I have many photos taken over the years of old vehicles and love to look at them. When I have a chance to rummage through old albums I'll dig some up and start a post.

Jederick It could be a one cylender gas engine called one lunger . It has a water resivoir on top to keep it cool. It could have been used to power a generator or water pump

Thanks for this info- there is a variety of old equipment scattered around and most of it was unknown to me. Interestingly, much of the old equip was hauled off and sold as scrap metal during World War II...kinda surprising that there is quite a bit still laying around.

Thanks Photosmoke and Linda. Forgot to mention that these photos were taken on a very cold overcast day and the rut was in full activity. Exciting to watch the rams visit the ewes and spar with other rams.
