From DFW Memorial last year. Todays starts at 11:00, it is 9:47am now as I write this.
This is my fathers site and my mother with him. It was a touching time. The images with my mother are from 2/15/23 of this year. I had to add them. Fresh sod had recently been layed down.
Nikon D300s, Auto or program mode, matrix or center point, f/10, 1/400, ISO 200.
Others with green grass were later on after sod took root.
In honor of our veterans I wish to share my thoughts, respect, appreciation and honor those who chose to serve our country and the world for freedom.
My father was a WWII, Korean war and reserve plus national guard. He rarely spoke of those times.
Here are some pictures from last years services at the DFW Veterans memorial resting grounds where my father rests.
To all the UHH members who served: Gods blessings to you all and your families.
Bruce.

Just curious - How many of you (men, only) have a mustache or beard of any kind? I had a mustaches for decades, and then I shaved it off. Now, I have a mustaches and chin whiskers. Since Covid, many more men have beards.
I am too handsome to cover my face with a beard or mustache even though I tried it for a while when I was young and today I don’t shave every day but still it’s just not for me.

So as not to hijack Jerry's shipping charges thread, I have a question for you folks about current shipping charges.
I sold an item (an aluminum box) to a person living in California, I live in Michigan. This item weighed 19.4 pounds and measured 18" X 24". I went to a FedEx shipping store last Thursday with the box to find out how much it would cost to pack and ship to CA, they quoted me a price of $140, I went back to drop it off yesterday, and was told it would cost $206 to pack and ship it there. When I questioned the charge to ship that day compared to 5 days prior, I was told that the price of shipping changes daily. That seems rather odd to me.
Is this a common practice these days?

Check with the local post office. I found they are a lot cheaper.

Your call.
Lookie here Jim, I am not BULLS****g you here Ok.
It is easy for someone to nit pick another posting which seem to have some value BUT ! they were not there when you did yours.
You did yours with Tri-X film, natural environmental settings, natural light, at least it appears this way to me and reading your descriptions.
Non pro models, just girls having fun, naturally and YOU WERE THERE.
I do not comment on all your posting because you already know my take on them and I do not want to clutter up the thread since others have expressed what I would say anyway.
ANY member should know it takes A LOT of time and work to go through and prepare your posting and daily too!
So if I could find something you could do to am image I would say so but I like photographs that are real and captured the moment.
So, take this as a constructive comment and please do not stop unless you just need a break.
Sincerely;
The keep'n it real Bruce tha loose.

Jim, I have told you several times I very much appreciate the time and the effort that you have spent to present these images to us. I just don’t like to repeat it over and over because I could but I’m in others opinion that your work is very appreciated and respected. You have spent a lot of time preparing these and we really appreciate.
You captured a moment in time and of course these were live as is and you captured the moment which to me is real photography unless it is a preplanned staged event.
Please do not be discouraged.
Most sincerely, Bruce.

Then what sort of replies were you expectng?
Honestly, I did not think about it, it was just spontaneous thing I did to just do it since I had not posted anything like this before.
Since you mentioned it I am not surprised but did not think the resident jerk User Id would crap all this innocent non intentional thread.
Well it is a learning experience for sure.
Thanks for the reply.

And, as any question with no provable answer, there will continue to be many opinions.
Entertainment. Yes. But maybe, just maybe, one will get you in the gut and make you look deeper into yourself.
Of course, I am always open to all views, this is how I have grown through the years.

Are you calling me ignorant ? If so why ?
I have seen many of your replies on other posts since being a member here and mostly all you do offer smart ass comments. You need your ass whipped boy.

Thank you for a kind reply.
And now:
This reply is to ALL reading this thread.
I HAD NO IDEA all replies to this simple post would go the way of this.
It came up somehow while looking at a link from some other post and I thought WHY NOT post it, simple as THAT !
I AM NOT PROPOSING, PRAISING, or doing ANYTHING intentional except just post a simple quote and my intention was SIMPLY, simple and innocent. No intentions or anything. Period.
I see why so many members do not post here.
