I'm not surprised, but I am impressed !!! Well done !!
Pretty cool. What did you use as the light source and how long were the exposures?
Leave your camera on Auto as you move about. At least you will get one reasonably decent shot. If you have time, take another in an appropriate 'scene' mode. Note the settings the camera picks. If you are not happy with the shots you have taken you should have a pretty good idea of what Aperture or Shutter setting to use to get the look you want.

Very nice shot. I'm going to Ireland in September. Do you know where this was taken? My guess is that it is somewhere along the Donegal or Antrim coast, but I would love to know exactly where.
Donald,
Were you able to find out where this was shot?
I'm wondering if it is the famed ' ....where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea....'
That would probably sell for $300,000 in my town.
Borrowlenses.com is another good rental company. They also have a few pick-up locations around the country but none in Florida.
I am sure the artist would be happy to sell you a copy if you find their work that inspiring.
That's the way it is supposed to work.
Reports that I have read indicate that the Nikon adapter is not as reliable or doesn't perform as well as the Canon version. Eye focus does not work with any of the adapted lenses - that is a really nice feature for portraits. The Sony will correct for Sony lens distortion in camera. I expect you will have to do it in PP for adapted lenses. I don't see any of those differences being of much consequence for the uses you intend.
Rab-eye , to illustrate your point "...one photographer's favorite lens may be the worst choice for another photographer...", I bought the 19mm Sigma 2.8 that imagemeister mentioned above. It was one of the few things I ever sent back in my whole life. I spent 3 or 4 times as much on the Sony Zeiss E 24mm f1.8 and couldn't have been happier. There was nothing wrong with the Sigma and I didn't do any comparison testing, but I just liked the Zeiss and its pictures from my A6000 much more. It is even better on my recently acquired A7Rii
However, my favorite lens is the Sony 18-105 f4 E OSS G. IQ probably isin't as good as the Zeiss 24mm, but I love the range, the feel, the look and the results from the 18-105 on either camera. I have a used Sony FE 24-70mm f4.0 on its way to me at the moment which hopefully will be a better match for the A7Rii, but I doubt that I will be selling the 18-105.

An eclipse always occurs during a new moon.
I did not know that !! But now that you have told me, it makes sense. Thanks.
Now can anybody tell me how to get my head out of my *** and delete this post ?
Maybe I should I follow our leader and double down on my screw up?
With all of the hype over the solar eclipse on Monday, has anybody noticed that Monday is also a New Moon. I wonder how often that happens. Solar eclipse and Milky Way shots in the same day!!!

Pence has that power, yet follows in Trump's footsteps. (25th Amendment, 4th clause.)
Interesting. As a left of centerist, I'm not so sure Pence would be an improvement. I fear that Pence would be more effective than the current wizard.
Sony has a downloadable App called Digital Filter that allows you to set up to three different zones in your shot. Each zone can have its own exposure and white balance temperature settings which are blended in-camera.
Much better Erich. Getting rid of the busy distracting foreground was a good move and the lower angle adds impact.
I often go back and re-shoot favorite locations. At one of my photography classes, there were different weekly assignments, but there was also a term assignment to go back and shoot the same place every week. Trying to find a different way to interpret the same subject or shooting the same subject under different conditions is a great exercise in creativity. Our teacher has been shooting the same park for 30 years and always manages to find a fresh way of seeing it.
