All good advice but I saw the same thing you saw and took the leap to Nikon and have not regretted it. Just something about a Nikon.

I have the 24-85 and find it to have nice color, is sharp, light weight, unobtrusive and is relatively easy on your wallet. I bought the 24-120 first but returned it. It was heavy and not reliably sharp- you pull that one out on the street and you will be noticed.

Hello,
This question is for owner/operators of a Canon 6D. I would really like to know your thoughts, likes, dislikes and anything related to this camera as I am considering this for my first full frame camera.
Thank you

Hi-I had the Canon 6D until recently. It is an excellent choice. Size and ergonomics are good. Battery power is great unless you have the wi-fi connected. Noise is well controlled. Combined with L lenses picture quality is great. And L lenses will hold their value when it's time to sell. Two cons: my 6D had a hard time processing "reds"- reds tend to be over saturated and sometimes neon like and the camera is not weather sealed. You can desaturate "red" in post but can't do much about the lack of weather sealing if that's important to you. I sold my Canon gear for Nikon gear. Really can't go wrong with either.

Sorry Brucewells, somehow I got my response in the middle of yours. I fixed it.
I agree with you. I signed on with PS CC and am very happy with the way it runs on my computer and the frequent updates to fix bugs/improvements. I think 9.95 a month is a bargain. It is much cheaper than updating PS annually at 199.00. When Adobe started to require annual updates to receive the upgrade pricing things became a bit expensive. And like you mentioned it includes LR.

I rather suspect it's going to get increasingly difficult to find CS6 in the box. Adobe has committed to the subscription service and really has no need to box anything any more.

Software isn't like a pocket knife that you can buy and use the rest of your life. It will, inevitably, require some amount of upgrade. With the subscription at $9.99/month, you can use it for nearly 4 years (completely upgraded as you go) at the same cost as the boxed stuff (which may be limited on upgradability). Plus, you get Lightroom thrown in!!

Just a thought.

Business is taking me to Portland Oregon for the next two weeks. I'm looking for some photo ops for the weekend I "stay over" there. Any suggestions?
Portland is beautiful at night-try some pictures of the city lights at night specifically downtown/bridges-spectacular

Another thing you might try for awhile is to take 3 exposures of each scene to see if that makes a difference. One normal exposure, one under and one over would be a good start.
