I posted these images two days ago and for whatever reason they never made it to the daily digest. I am posting them again in hopes they make the daily digest so others can share in this fun exercise.

Was at the Nature Visions Expo in Manassas, Va last weekend and saw Charles Needle give a talk on creative iPhone photography. He is one of the most creative people I have ever met and it was really great seeing him again after many years. One of the things he mentioned in his talk was a lens kit for mobile phones. I purchased a set and ventured out to Lewis Ginter Gardens today to have some fun with my phone. Below are some of the photos I took with my phone and these specialty lenses. This does not represent all the lenses in the kit, but where applicable I labeled the image with the lens used. (Please note that I am presenting the basic function of these lenses and not necessarily fine art photography. LOL)

I knew that when I first replied but I was more touched by your post reminding us about these brave men and women who served. I knew it would not be long before someone would mention the dates. To me it was more about honoring them.
Thank you again for the post.
Sincerly;

My dear brother;
This is what got too.
I was just starting to leave to visit my parents house when your email came in. I was just checking the weather map one last time before heading out. It is my mothers birthday, she is 88 today and my father is 92 so I am going to see them. But.
I had to stop and write you back.
Bother, if anyone could write a book on being an asshole that would be ME. I sure have my times and MANY of them too, indeed. However your reply to demonstrated that is not who you really are.
You are man of honest character and integrity.
We just work in a digital world where face to face interactions is not possible but still here we are.
To meet you in person would honestly be an honor and privilege. You are always welcome to contact me privately or openly on this site.
I must say may God bless you, your heart spoke to me honestly in an open forum and that takes courage.
That's what I got brother.
peace
bruce, gotta run.

Thanks for reaching out to me.
I do not have anything to compare my D200 pictures too except a Point'n shoot old Nikon L310. I used it because it has the video option and a zoom that does not work hardly at all. But still, I used it at the air shows, last week-end recently. I am reviewing the pictures, hundred of them from last week-ends air show, and also writing a narrative for my very first post on this site. I was so honored Sunday to have the privilege to take a ride and actually fly a 1943 PT-19 open cockpit WWII trainer. OMG OMG OMG what a gift. I told the owner I restored a 1942 Areonca L3-B Defender and also being a pilot too, he let me fly the plane. I want to share this experience with the group and working on the words to post and a few pictures of the event.
D200 being 12 years old now, I am pleased so far with how it performs. I got it because the old Nikon film N80 which I have two lenses which plug right onto the D200.
Nikkor 28-80 and a 70-300. Some may laugh but that is what I have and they work.
I am curious how your shots differ from you are comparing them too.
If you would like to see some of the shots I have taken with please let me know. I greatly appreciate a learning opportunity from greater experiences than mine.
Thank you for the contact to me.
Bruce.

Don't worry about the sting, that was yesterday. From what I have seen from some members here, sometimes it looks like a monkey shit fight between them but the next day or so it became all past and forgotten.
You obviously are a very intelligent and a well experienced man and your input can and should be very welcome and needed here.
Yup. this site to me is like a large round table with all the members from around the world sitting together with plenty of whiskey, wine and beer. And you can imagine how this works out.
Thank you for the endorsement on D200. I decided to get it while re-educating myself and taking time to study the current equipment.
I am very happy with it. I got it for 147.00 bucks from a pro who bought it new and had it serviced yearly my Nikon. She sold it to me with battery, charger, and few accessories. My two existing lenses used on the N80 work just fine on it.
Looks like your DX1 hopefully will be in your hands soon.
Again, welcome back,
b

Sir;
Thank you for the kind reply. It did warm my heart that you understood my intent.
I read the new daily posts when they hit at 4:30am most of the time as I did yours and being still in bed and not fully coherent, I just kinda jumped the gun without fully re-reading and thinking about a reply or not.
I see that a member has offered to gift you the device you are seeking and this is a real blessing and I am glad you got an offer so quick.
I also see you have a Nikon D200. I have one too, I bought it last November, my first DSLR moving up from the film Nikon N80 and various brands of digital point'n shooters. I love it. It is my learning 'training wheel' device into the modern world of DSLRs and I think I may eventually lean to the Fuji mirror less once I re-educate myself on photography. Being recently retired I now have the time to enjoy this more.
Welcome back to the forum. This site has been very helpful to me. My next step is to post something. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your very kind reply to me.
Again; welcome back
Bruce in texas.

Thanks for the clarification. It helps. I have been on the internet since 1986 usenet days and if someone seems patronizing they usually are. You clearly aren't. And you probably know the frustration of getting patronizing-sounding advice yourself. Fwiw I was on ugly hedgehog years ago and we couldn't find my account, and I have been on a dozen other substantial online communities as moderator, newbie, and everything else but troll. I am not bitter, but I have a hair-trigger now for bogus. Maybe I need to dial a little slack back into my perception.

The graciousness of your reply reminds me that the infosphere is still populated by decent, distracted humans worthy of a considerate reply. Thanks.

I must apologize because I did not intend my reply to come across like that.
I just quickly looked to see if there was any still out there as a curious courtesy for you.
If this is how you respond to people on this site, so be it, you being a 'newbie' , will find that that this attitude will not get you far.
Many replies from members to members waver off point to some degree.
May your bitterness turn to peace.

I am retired and an avid amateur photographer with a special interest in Nikon equipment. My side project right now involves exploring ccd sensor based cameras from the 2000-2012 era. I would like to get a nikon d1 h or x model with battery and charger that is in decent condition.

If you have one you are willing to sell in the $50-$80 range let me know. That budget is dictated by a fixed income.

Thank you.

Hi Roger;
I just realized you live in the UK. The drive price is much less here and Windows 10 is no longer a free upgrade. It was only a free upgrade for a couple of months. It can be purchased from Microsoft directly as a download or from a store in a DVD, which is what I prefer. I am glad to hear you are moving in the right direction, once you get it up to speed you will very happy with it.
Be careful of 'freebees' or cheap and discounted Windows 10 options. PLEASE avoid these and only get it directly from Microsoft or reputable store where you will get a licensed version and full support from Microsoft.
Let me know if I can help Ok,
bruce

Thanks again Bruce for the comments. Once the new drive has been cloned and becomes the 1TB C: drive I will be installing Windows 10 onto it (currently Win 7). The 1TB SSD was £189. Not sure if Windows 10 is still free or not. Once the new drive is installed I will check for a freeby.
Watch this space.

Thanks for the reply Roger.
I think you will be just fine, you have a good solid base hardware system so the higher storage disk will really help.

Here is what I did the past year or so. I bought two refurbished computers from MicroCenter in Dallas Texas, I live in the area so I just drove there and picked them up. No monitors, just the CPU box.
I paid less than 340. bucks for each, bought a few months apart, not at the same time.
They are DELL's, i5's, one has 8 gig ram, the other 16. Windows 10 on both.
One of the first things I did was buy a 500 gig SSD for each one.
I cloned the OS to the SSD and oh man, what big difference in start time and overall performance.
I use the old spinning disk hard drives as back ups a few times a year. I also have recovery disks on USB sticks.
I actually had to use one last year when the original disk crapped out before I could in stall the SSD !
Mine work fine.
I read A LOT of opinions on this site about high dollar computers and monitors etc. etc. etc.
To me there is a lot of BS with this too and serious over kill.
Today's computers if tuned up right or cleaned up, will do ANYTHING you need to do without overly excessive RAM and gizmo's.
I am not saying this is not needed by heavy duty Pro and Enthusiasts doing serious processes that many of us 'regular' folks do not do, So I am not bashing anything.
I just hate to see people get sucked into overkill expenses.
You will be fine once the SSD is installed and your system is stabilized.
Peace to you bro,
Bruce in Texas.

Very good move to get the SSD, I hope you use this as your main C:\ drive and clone the OS to it.
I suggest this as because this is what I have always done.
I also suggest you take this to a 'tech' shop and have them clone the OS ' operating system, being Windows' to the new SSD.
I can't recall if your existing drive is partitioned, I think it may have been, they can copy these over too.
Also, I really encourage you to upgrade to Windows10. It is much much better and runs more efficiently.
Good luck and please let me know how it goes.
Bruce.
