By the way...as a matter of history, one of the main factors involved in the doom of Kodachrome ( which was my favorite...whatever that's worth) is the fact that the chemicals used in the development of Kodachrome were extremely caustic making it extremely difficult to be licensed to develop the film because of disposal regulations once the chemicals were expended. There were only a few facilities on the east coast that were licensed to handle it. One was Rochester, NY @ the Kodak plant itself, another was in Atlanta, GA, and there may have been one or two more at most.

One the other hand....you could develop Ektachrome in your own bathroom without much trouble and flush the chemicals down your toilet; although that was not recommended.

Kodachrome is the "warm" one of the two. Technically speaking, the reason for this is the way the emulsion layers were configured on the acetate backing. In the case of Kodachrome, the warm color layers were the top-most on the backing. If you ever get a chance to look at a Kodachrome transparency (slide) in a slide viewer, you will notice that the reds, oranges, and yellows jump out at you as if in 3-D. This is because those color layers are on top and the cool colors (blues, greens, etc.) are underneath. The reverse was true with Ektachrome which was considered the "cooler" emulsion. Consequently, the answer to the question of which one to use was predominantly governed by what color category the photographer desires to emphasize...cool or warm. Hope this helps!

I have the V-Lux 1 and, as I understand it, the Vario-Elmarit lens in addition to the color interpretation logarithms programmed into the camera (which would be very similar, if not identical, to yours) are excellent (Leica)! What you may want to research when copying artwork is the color interpretation of your monitor. You probably will need to calibrate your computer monitor's color so that when you display your work online, those viewing will see (basically) what you painted. Of course, to be completely accurate for your viewers, their settings would have to be the same as yours...this is a whole other "ball of wax".

Point is...you should see the same colors on YOUR monitor as in the original painting. Here is a link that may help with the basics...http://www.pcworld.com/article/110070/digital_focus_calibrate_your_monitor.html

Suggest trying the Panasonic Lumix series of even the Leica V Lux 1 or 2. ALL have Leica Vario Elmarit lenses AND very broad zoom range. Not much out there beats a Leica lens. Price is right too!

Unless I misunderstand...the Oximoron here is a "kid-free car with a kid in it. That said, technically, it is easier to use selection tool ( in this case magnetic lasso) to separate the little girl to adjust lightness and contrast. I like the first photo because the background is dark making it easier to pull this off. Recommend a similar cropping to this to bring her face closer to center of composition AND closer to the license plate to better present the idea. Let me know if this helps... :)

I, on the other hand really like number three!! Natural abstracts are, sometimes, hard to find and even harder to capture. This is a really great one! Wonderful job and VERY healthy imagination (artistic)!

I notice you are in Naples FL. Try checking out Dale Labs. They are in Hollywood, FL and I have used their services for years. Very Pro, good prices. And, for you, they would be somewhat close. They are at www.dalelabs.com
