Okay, I think this one has finally gone over the top for me.

Canon versus Nikon.

I don't use either one and I don't think there's any significant difference between the two on a feature for feature comparison or as far as quality goes.

There are other cameras to choose from, so it's a specious argument from the start.

If we are going to compare cameras, can we stop acting like these are the only two in the world?

Thank God we are adults and able to have a rational discussion of this volatile issue. I feel SO much better now. Phew.

I appears camera comparison is out and the status of free speach will now be the topic.

Is there a difference? Just kidding. There really IS a great need for a sarcasm font.

I just have gotten tired of the same dreary arguments about these two big companies. There are so many choices out there. If we are going to spend our time being contentious and arguing over the relative merits of minor differences in lens resolution and/or pixel packing, let's at least include more in the mix. It gets boring otherwise.

I can tell you honestly that when I went to choose my (brand withheld) first DSLR camera, I was on a shoestring budget and I was drawn in that particular direction. And I can't even remember if there was a valid reason why. Now, I just shoot, I'm happy and voila! No more no less.

As good a reason as any. My first camera was a 35mm Praktica. No light meter. All manual. It was free AND it had a Zeiss lens. I got a Weston Master V light meter to go with it. The price was right. I learned to shoot on it. Free was the right price for me.

I you are interested in being the 446,000 th person to view this funny informative and rational youtube video Google compare nikon d7000 and Canon 60d. A little known fact is that Canon named the 60d hoping that you would think it was the Nikon D60. Why is that?
