I wondered about this "warr" too....My first CF Card failure, ever - happened last week. SanDisk Extreme 16mb 60MB/s. Had 40-50 pictures on card, and it completely locked up my camera. No controls would work-shutter-aperture-Ev compensation, could not take a picture & Backscreen was black.
After pulling and reinserting card several times, got the 'Card not formatted' error. Put the card in reader on Mac..and after much fiddling-it finally recognized it, I saved my pics. Reformatted it...camera still locks up with it in.
Called Sandisk, They had me take pictures of the card-esp the edge with numbers on it....Issued me an RMA # & UPS label, should have new card in a couple weeks. I bought this card in 2011-So I guess they do stand behind their cards.

This site has quite a bit of free information on photography as well as other topics. The above can be found at this link.
They have free e-books as well, which can be found here http://www.makeuseof.com/pages/guide-to-digital-photography?utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_source=2012-04-18
I would recommend you sign up but for those who wish to sample the books the password is makeuseof.
Enjoy!
What Photo Editing programs do you have?
Can you attach the originals, these are pretty small?

These were from a rare family gathering after Grandma's funeral. I'd like to print these and mail out to the family, but the background is not ideal and I'm not experienced on editing such as this.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!!
I have good luck with mine, but I always mount my speedlight indoors, and 'bounce' the flash. A couple of my lenses don't play well with popup flash anyways
like the 70-200mm.

Ok..I have the chance to get a full frame Canon 5d mark ii. I was reading about it and found out that it doesn't have a pop up flash. I take alot of pictures indoors and use the flash on my Canon t1i occasionally when I don't have alot of light coming thru the windows. I do have a Canon Speedlight 430ex that I could use.
Anyone using the 5d Mark ii have good luck with pictures inside?
Worth the upgrade?
Welcome ! You'll find lots of good info on here, and lots of friendly help.
Those Last two skylines would make a nice postcard - thanks for sharing

A state park on the No edge of town called Floyd Lamb State Park. The water flows up from the ground creating ponds. It used to be a working cattle ranch and has many of the old buildings. Locals call it Tule Springs. The Red Rock area has some nice hiking trails that lead to springs and wildlife gather around them...lots of Burro's.
Thanks - That sounds really neat, I'll check that out. Here are some I took at Red Rock...
That looks familiar - I'd like to explore that area some more. Where can you find the Artisan water?

Most people think of Vegas as casino's and mini city's on the strip. It's the desert ..... We have beautiful open scenery and areas that are now parks with artesian water and water fowl. I will post pics of these things from time to time. The tourist areas of Vegas are photographed to death so none of that from me :)
I was there three weeks ago, wanted to get away from the strip and was surprised to find Red Rock Canyon. Too many people there that day, but I will definitely go back.
GIMP 2.8 Resources / Nice work PhotoGator !

California will never get out of debt or have a budget surplus! As soon as it looks like a surplus is possible, the Dems buckle down and create new spending on dumb things like the "bullet train" to nowhere. Since Dem voters are growing in numbers faster than ragweed in Wisconsin, the future is hopeless.
The only things that keeps me here are the gorgeous scenery, unmatchable climate and Prop 13.
I agree--but looks like a move is imminent
