These were from a rare family gathering after Grandma's funeral. I'd like to print these and mail out to the family, but the background is not ideal and I'm not experienced on editing such as this.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!!
What Photo Editing programs do you have?
Can you attach the originals, these are pretty small?

I went all the way and just changed the whole BG. Did either one of us come close to what you wanted? I brought in a new BG and placed it below the original picture, then used the eraser tool to erase all the BG on the original layer to let the BG layer show through. once all the new BG was showing I brought up a hue and saturation adjustment just on the BG layer and played with the sliders till I liked what I had.
Oh my - this is perfect!!! It looks like it could have been in the same venue - very realistic. Which program did you use? I do not have the right software (or the skills!) to create this look. Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for your time!! I think the background is a pretty color; I do like the more realistic one posted earlier with the paneled BG. Thanks for explaining what you did - I'm thinking more about purchasing a better PP program, but am nervous about investing the time to learn enough to do it justice. I'm still learning so much from UHH about using my camera to it's potential. Thanks again!!
Hi jillvslp,
I hope you don't get upset with the fact that I took the liberty of using one shot with different backgrounds. I hope you enjoy.

Outstanding job, CajonPhotog. Considering the occasion, an excellent, respectful, but not overwhelming choice of background.

Great backgrounds from everyone , what lovely people you all are. . I think all of the photos and different backgrounds look great, would be hard to choose if it was me, I am sure your family will love them.

Forgive me for saying this, but it seems like everybody is happy that Grandma is gone.

jillvslp, Don't buy PP software!!!! Go to Gimp and download their FREE software. Then come back here and go to the archives on how to work with Gimp by Shakeyshutter and his grandson(now about 12). They have put together Great Tutorials for UHHrs'. You can do all of the pics posted above and more. Note If you can, go back to the Legion Hall. Try to take several shots of just the walls of the room to use as a background. That way the pics you create will be more true to the event as your family members will remember it.
