Take plenty Dramamine...hundreds of sharp curves, lots of stoplights and Ped crossings. Enjoy!

As Bullwinkle would say....."Todays lesson fans is"......"Even the dead have an opinion". At first, I just wanted to "fiddle" with my camera...twisting knobs, spinning dials....Z-O-O-M'N in....getting close to a bug or flower. What better place to be alone? After reading and wondering about the folks under feet. I felt sad for the one's who died young, encouraged by the centurions. I lost my thought about correct settings, and proper angles. I just aimed and shot. I saw many "worthy" of display on this great forum. I picked 3.
NICE! that's wall hanger for sure! This would be a great poster even.
Greetings...I have a Nikon coolpix 7900 point and shoot with a Fantasea CP-7 underwater housing I'm no longer using. Please look up the specs to see if this is what your looking for. The $150 is a fair price for this combo. The camera is 7.1mp. The housing has never flooded. respectfully trainspotter.
A sign of the times I guess. Drivers are ruder...(tailgating, speeding, hand gestures for any small reason), customers tapping on cellphones while your trying to help them. Stammering while waiting in lines....the list is endless now days. We always hope to fine a peaceful space to relax and dialog. I believe this site offers such a place....but sometimes we have issues at home or work that translate into being "snippy" with others. I'm guilty of that myself. (retirement helps some by not having such a demanding schedule.) Peace to all the great photographers. I will do my best to listen intently, learn and offer encouragement when I can. respectfully trainspotter
Thanks railfan Bill... my next project is the old abandoned round house and turntable in Eugene Ore...(I worked there in the late 70's). Up bought SP and sent ALL hump and maintenance to Roseville Ca.
Greetings Joe..I'm still trying to get permission to be on RR property...I would love to get closer...but there is also swamp on all sides..as soon as I know it's safe and legal to be on the bridge...I'll get-er-done. (still learning about filters)...thank you for your help....respectfully trainspotter.
Boy some things never give up. I took these photos of this bridge with and without a train passing by. All are just Jpegs with no touch ups.
Greetings. I'm new to the world of DLSR's...I've been using a point and shoot Nikon for years (back when a 4mp camera was popular. The camera I was using, had many lenses available so I bought and used them all. Also available was an underwater housing. I started doing shallow diving (rivers and ponds). Now...I've retired from diving, and would love to learn DLSRs and post processing. My interest is B&W of old buildings, train trestles and actual trains. I also believe there is a "nitch" in photographing the graffiti on rail cars, having the pictures printed up as tiny decals and sold to model railroader's to add realism to their rolling stock. I have a nice Canon T2i with 5 lenses. the 2 kit lenses, (18-55, 70-300). I've added the 50mm, 100mm macro and a 12mm-28mm wide angle. Any help or suggestions on PP software for a simpleton like myself would be great! I'm so glad to meet everyone here. respectfully trainspotter.
Wow...the posts here are top notch. I'm so new...I'm still packing away all the receipts. I am trying to learn with fast moving subjects (trains)....but I also photograph bridges and trestle's. I've just retired and got the photo bug as a hobby. I've had ex-coworkers ask for portraits, and I'm unsure where to start. That's why I'm here...I'm all ears..and eyes....thank you for your posts..( I do take notes). respectfully trainspotter
