Ahhhh that is perfect
Thank you !!
Thank you all for the comments.....
the cabins are on posts nice breeze under the floor .... no insulation, old newspaper stuffed in some of the cracks..... big old wood stove that the 4 of us, that shared our cabin took turns stuffing full of wood about every 3 to 4 hours ...... other wise someone would wake up after 6 hours - grumbling it was getting COLD inside.
Its great when I needed to get up to escort wife to outhouse in middle of night & it is some where south of zero... ... boots, coat, hat, mittens ........ you should have heard her statement when I said ..... no honey you go to the out house ..... sorry dear , I 'm stepping off the steps..... dont linger please !!!
NO on one in the group will forget the HIKE!!
thats not the distance - its #5
up stream .... you could hear the water beneath the ice
Thanks NMGirl I was 58 years young then
PH thanks for the info
I m going to check if firmware is up to current status
& May try the live view
NO running water, bring your own cook stove , pots, food, bed linens or DOWN Sleeping bag, park ranger would not tell us if the source of water was open ( a spring & stream) so I brought an ice chisel...... didnt need it.
We have many more images too many for here & one day light was a dull gray for 1/2 of the day - nothing worth posting .
On the last day - hike out day we woke to -22 F on the outside thermometer it warmed some by the time we left- but the wind chill on the lake was brutal until we got into the woods & on the trail.

I had mentioned to poster of recent Baxter park & Mt Katahdin winter pictures it reminded me of a hike 8 years ago
How do you haul what you need, & you NEED everything,
gone 1.2 miles - 4.8 to go, to Daicey Pond Baxter St park
Fresh snow the next morning- perfect snow
Cabin & view from it
view of Katahdin from Daicey Pond
sunset lit up the clouds
MLK day 2013 - headed back to cars- 6miles OAT = +/-15 below 0 & on lake 12 to 15mph breeze
Thanks all of you gat to get the lens on camera. And see how it works. And watch the you tubes ....
Wow this one had me recalling a snowshoe hike , pulling our gear / food etc .... 6 miles , We left Abol Bridge to Daicey pond - MLK weekend a few years ago.
Winter in the Park is something very special! the silence was amazing.
I should post a couple images of the hike on another thread
Thank you .. will call TAMRON
John
I have a chance to buy this lens ( Nikon Mount ) packaged with a Tap-in console to fine tune.
I do not totally understand the fine tuning process , so while doing a little reviewing on B&H website reading info for the Tap-in console - BH sells as a separate item for Nikon
the following statement is printed .
*An initial firmware update performed by a Tamron service facility on these lenses is required to enable compatibility with Tamron's TAP-in Console.
this is a packaged "kit" lens, neck strap, 2 scan disks, padded bag for lens.... originally from a online photo shop
So my question is would the initial update already be completed?
& HOW difficult is it to fine lens to camera...... I have D7200 & D850 - & may use lens on both bodies?
Thanks for your advice
You can always view on FLIGHT AWARE web site by tail #.

Great Shot..... I too use to scuba in Nov - Dec- in a we suit..... fresh scallops....
My guess looking the photo downloaded Its a dry-suit. I had friends when we were White water raft guides in Maine.... in May with ice on shore - they had Dry-suits yes toes hand face still chilly
BUT like I said GREAT SHOT!!
Sue, I think these are great..... as for more hunting owls..... if you have a not very busy airport nearby........... look there , resembles the territory that the snow owls normally inhabit
I had several of these images.... some I watched 1/3's rule, some getting an 40 to 50* angle to lead the eye, some & some without the for ground. Taken in New Zealand, on what guide / helicopter pilot said was Unknown Lake , empties into the Dart River through the narrow slot......... also saw it from the Dart River.... its a water fall. The family liked this one
Since I am form Maine
I would choose Maine, this was a snap shot taken near the North eastern town of Jackman, during a bird hunting day ..... October 8th, 2007
maybe 20 - 25 miles south of the Canadian border, on logging roads pehaps 5 to 10 miles off the paved road ( NOT HIGHWAY)
