My good and bad takes with L v4 -

Good - excellent for simple edits where the program helps improving images using its AI - takes less time to get to improved results than LR/PS, much quicker to learn and harder to forget than the much greater power and complexity of LR/PS - integrating layers into the one program saves time and effort - simpler to control files and folders. Time to get to a reasonable level of proficiency is also much less. The one off license payment per version appeals to me as against a subscription (USD to AUD$ conversion works badly against Oz subscribers).

Bad - Data asset management (DAM) and image finding is vastly less helpful than the amazing DAM in LR, reported crashes are greater (although up to v4.3.0 as of today I have not had any on my iMac or MacBook Pro), extent of image management and fine detail adjustment is vastly better than in L4, extent of learning materials both paid for and free on the web is way better with LR/PS.

I have decided to stick with Luminar as my primary image editor for the time being, but keep an old standalone version of LR for the odd occasion that an image warrants the extra time and effort to make its more complex edits - but as always YMMV.

Captured the movement in the moment - very effective in B&W as well.

Thanks popheizz - the Fuji x series lets you select direction of travel and up or down in pano mode - and the default is landscape from left to right and that's what I went with.

On McL daughters - they were big a while ago here, but I think they recently announced a followup or spin off movie - link is here -

So on joining the Hog, I thought I should share what I had leant as a beginner about the technical bits of capturing, editing and displaying panos - and I posted that guide here some time ago -
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-593992-1.html

I was in the central west of NSW near a town called Orange last weekend with no pano equipment - so I tried out the in camera panorama setting on the new X-T4 and just turned through 180 deg as the shutter clicked.

And Fuji you do some pretty nice panos straight out the box without additional gear software etc - sure, each of these could be technically improved - but the point is simplicity got a couple of ok shots - see what you think!

best, Andrew

Minding my neighbours chickens for a few days - took the camera with me, with results below.
Neighbour has given them names matching the personalities of current and past politicians, which are as indicated on each image.
Used a 50mm 1.4 lens - quite pleased with the detail.

The third image (all fins and tailights) brings back strong memories of an era, long gone but well remembered.

Interesting how a definitive car part invokes the larger story - we called them Yank Tanks and sort of loved / hated them!

Great images and thanks for sharing.

As an alternative view, I have found stability at height (I am 6ft 2") and the ability to quickly change heads and cameras attached to them mean this solution worked best for me - but YMMV!

Visited a relative who has gone farming north of Tamworth - very rough old dirt road but worth it to get these views - all taken with a Fuji XT-4, 16-55mm lens and post in Luminar 4 - all of which I am still learning!

This is a superb winter shot - so unlike our winters here (Blue Mountains, Australia) - you have captured the subtle mixed tones that are so attractive to someone who does not have to put up with the cold!!

Very much like both images you posted - Andrew.

For what it's worth here is what the MacWorld site is saying about 32 bits apps (including Adobe ones) that MAY have problems running under 10.15 Catalina - list was I think a guess at the time of writing and not a result of real world testing.

https://www.macworld.co.uk/feature/mac-software/apps-wont-work-catalina-3698142/#toc-3698142-

I think I will wait a few weeks to get some real world reports before taking the plunge.
Will also be keeping an image of Mojave v10.14.6 in case backtracking is required.

MrBob -
Not my battle and not my war but you really evoked memories of a trip years ago with the family in the winter (no leaves) to Gettysburg. The soft even light and years of respectful care for the past are really well captured in this image. Your time was not wasted; keep sharing, and thanks. Andrew

#6 (a chipmunk I think?) has a stunningly good example of depth of field - the subject is sharp as, the foreground and background are pleasingly out of focus - really liked that one Ballard!

I really like both - especially the detail and extraordinary colours you have captured - would you share the technical details of the shots?

In the first on the furthest away hill there is maybe a tree or a rock cleft on the LHS near the top - anyway it made me want to go there and investigate!

Great images stir the travel bug in me - well done you.
