Selling some DSLR gear. Took my D500 in hand and snapped a few pics. Great feeling and sound. That mirror moving up and down brings back fond memories.
Anyone else?
Yep! I know the feeling. It is great to press the shutter and feel the magic on board. I still have my film cameras and all in great condition. Waiting to repair a Pentax Spotmatic after working some overtime.
Buy the way, my first camera was a Zenit-E which weighed as much as a cinder block!
Your ability makes the camera work. If your not sure what to buy, don’t buy. Rent several different cameras one at a time. Read the manual and give the camera its paces. Take notes and keep them in a small notebook. After a few trials, you’ll find a camera that suits YOU! Besides if you buy based upon someone else’s recommendation, you may be disappointed.
I once purchased a lens for my camera. Description seemed clear and price was right. Unfortunately, the lens was for a crop sensor camera and not my full frame. It is very important to read the descriptions and ask questions.
By The Way, I gave the lens to my daughter who has a crop sensor camera!
I have had similar issues with the rubber coverings on my cameras. First, buy very fine paint brushes. The item that was recommended to me by a fellow Hogger (Rick Riggins) is called Pliobond. It is relatively inexpensive but the odor can be overwhelming. The can top does include a brush but it can make everything a mess if used. A fine brush does the job with no mess.
I can also suggest using double sided tape but this gets difficult to manipulate.
You attach them to the things that you are going to lose in advance. It is a matter of prediction. Fell free to consult a fortune teller if you need help.
The last fortune teller said to me, “Welcome, You are about to lose large sums of cash.” I asked, “Do you take plastic?”
Nope! Don’t have one here either! However, my daughter graduated from SUNY Fredonia. She has a Master’s in Music Ed. She plays 12 instruments and teaches her little ‘snotters.’ Oh yes! One of those 12 is a guitar.
My last visit to B&H was very productive. Also, it didn’t break the bank. I picked up 2 batteries for my Canon 5D Mark IV and an SD Card and a CF Card.
I also purchased a BUBBLE LEVEL and some LOST ITEM LABELS. These items don’t take up a great deal of space in an already cramped bag. But if not for anything they will offer peace of mind.
Carbon Dioxide is not a major concern in one’s household. The major concern is natural gas. It has a distinct odor. This is scented with methyl mercaptan which is harmless but imparts a distinctive “rotten egg” smell. Similarly, propane gas is also odorized with Ethyl Mercaptan.
One major dangerous gas occurs when mixing Chlorine Bleach and Ammonia. A chemical reaction will occur when the acidic bleach is mixed with the basic ammonia. The result is a very faint greenish gas that is not only suffocating and highly caustic chlorine gas.
…..It monitors the air in your house for CO2. It sells for $163…..
Jerry, I wish I had your stamina. I barely have enough energy to butter a slice of toast. I think if I had the energy I would make ukuleles for my daughter so she can teach her students music. What the heck am I complaining about? I’m only 63 and you are an inspiration.
