Thanks for the link Jerry-I put it on our "list" at Amazon for when we have an address to ship to. Fulltime in an RV and Amazon retains the shipping method choice-we can only use PO General Delivery on the road.

That's why I hate cleaning sensors. It's never as easy and fast as the demo videos. You can save time by using a sensor loupe to examine it for spots. No picture-taking required.

Priceless!

guy is browsing in a pet shop, and sees a parrot sitting on a little perch.

It doesn't have any feet or legs.

The guy says aloud, 'Jeesh, I wonder what happened to this parrot.?’

The parrot says, 'I was born this way. I'm a defective parrot.’

'Holy crap,' the guy replies. 'You actually understood and answered me.!’

'I got every word,' says the parrot. 'I happen to be a highly intelligent, and a thoroughly educated bird’

'Oh yeah?' the guy asks. 'Then answer this, how do you hang onto your perch, without any feet.?'

'Well,' the parrot says, 'this is very embarrassing, but since you asked, I wrap my weenie around this wooden bar, like a little hook. You can't see it, because of my

feathers.'

'Wow,' says the guy. 'You really can understand, and can speak English, can't you.?’

'Actually, I speak both Spanish and English, and I can converse with reasonable competence on almost any topic, politics, religion, sports, physics, philosophy. I'm especially good at ornithology. You really ought to buy me, I'd be a great companion.'

The guy looks at the $200.00 price tag. 'Sorry, but I just can't afford that.’

'Pssssssst,' says the parrot, 'I'm defective, so the truth is, nobody wants me, cause I don't have any feet. You can probably get me for $20, just make the guy an offer.!’

The guy offers $20, and walks out with the parrot.

Weeks go by.

The parrot is sensational.

He has a great sense of humor, he's interesting, he's a great pal, he understands everything, he sympathizes, and he's insightful.

The guy is delighted.

One day the guy comes home from work, and the parrot goes, 'Psssssssssssst,' and motions him over with one wing.

'I don't know if I should tell you this or not, but it's about your wife, and the UPS man.’

'What are you talking about,?' asks the guy.

'When the UPS man delivered a package today, your wife greeted him at the door, in a sheer black nightie.’

'WHAT???' the guy asks incredulously.

'THEN what happened?’

'Well, then the UPS man came into the house, and lifted up her nightie, and began petting her all over,' reported the parrot.

'NO!' he exclaims, 'And she let him?’

'Yes. Then he continued taking off the nightie, got down on his knees, and began to kiss her all over.’

Then the frantic guy demands, 'THEN WHAT HAPPENED.?’

DUNNO?!? I got a hard-on, and fell off my perch!’

I'd suggest something in the middle-maybe a 300 foot plate...

LOL! I'd better select my words more carefully! I didn't see that until you pointed it out. Thanks.

Hopefully not with a damascus barrel!

If taken care of why not. I have an old 97 model Winchester shotgun made in 1900 and it still works just fine.

Barb Wire, Yep, Sure is a sign of the times. However to me that bird sure looks like it is landing.

Have to agree JR69-he looks to be in a descent angle and not a take-off angle.

Gonna take a road trip along the coast from Los Angeles to Oregon soon. I plan on taking my new Sigma 150-600, Tokina 11-16 and Nikon 18-140. I know I will be taking a lot of day time shots along water and some landscapes. I have been researching for awhile. Your thoughts on their use and which ones are good. Thanks

RM-I bought a Nikon 200mm-500mm lens this spring and bought a B+W CPL for it (83mm), along with a set of step-down rings (light as a feather) so I can use it an all my other lenses. It's a toss-up, but carrying the rings is less cumbersome than CPL's in each lens size, and way less glass to keep clean. That coast is stunning-I hope you have a LONG amount of time to take it all in! Stay safe!

All the good advice has really helped. Thanks again to all who responded. These are last night's results. With some more practice I may be ready to go looking for some really dark skies.

You're right-all the advice made a huge difference-great shots!

Thanks for your input. I know there is a big problem with ambient light here. I'm shooting in my back yard trying to get the settings nailed down before I start looking for darker sky. With the 18mm focal length I'm not seeing any distortion because of movement even at 30 seconds. Once Iget this focus thing figured out I can start to refine exposure, etc.

I'm no expert having only tried star shots a few times, but I've read in a few places that setting your camera for monochrome/black & white can be helpful. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

Taken in Cathedral Valley Utah, near Capitol Reef NP. Not as sentimental as a tractor sinking into a field it may have tended, but B & W just works so well for these kinds of shots.

Yeah Will, for sure! My wife and I are 5 years into full-time in an RV and see old iron in every part of the country. Most times it seems like they shut it down at the end of a job and never came back! Thanks for the pic-Tom

Did that. Just deleted every KB on the drive. I will try one more time to restore from the website, but if it doesn't work, I'm afraid it's the five pound sledge for me... I have never, ever, been as frustrated with a single piece of hardware or software. I am not a technical moron, although I'm not the most sophisticated user out there.

Post pics please-a 5 pound sledge is my favorite tool for fine tuning computers!

Amen to that LRF! Ran into one here on UHH on a computer thread about WIN-10. Self appointed hall monitors that are sarcastic/condescending should be warned then banned if they keep it up. Thanks for your post.

The hood for the 200mm-500mm is monstrous-it's the size of a car tire! As for leaving the filter off, I'ma not stepping into that one!
