I would like to thank everyone for their input and advice. I have purchased my first full frame and ended up with the 6D Mark I. The Mark II was still a little out of my price range and with lenses, I just couldn't make it work. After much research and all of your comments, the 6D is a significant upgrade from what I have now (T2i) and will provide me with more than enough tools to take my photography to the next level. I was able to acquire two lenses as well. Tamron 28-300 f3.5 and a 35mm f2 prime. Again, Thank you all!

I am looking to upgrade to full frame for the low light performance. An EF lens on a crop sensor camera will not improve performance in the areas I am looking to upgrade. I can get a used 6D mkii with a 24-105mm lens for around $900 and have room to purchase another lens. I am focused on the Canon, because of my familiarity with the controls and interchangeability of accessories like remote shutters and trigger devices that I currently have. I am not ruling out Nikon because of the fact that I will need to buy new lenses either way and I am looking to see if there are enough pro's to push me to make the switch. I like other Nikon products, but so far, from the comparisons that I have read, the Canon way outperforms the Nikon. Canon features that i like: fully articulating LCD screen, NFC and Bluetooth, GPS (not a deal breaker), higher cross-type AF points, higher resolution and processor speed.

I do have a Canon now, but it is APS-C format. Any full frame I go with will require different lenses. The price range I am looking at includes lenses (or at least one lens for now).

P.S. I shoot mainly nature landscape and wildlife, but am really interested in lightening, star trails and lunar photography.

Ok. This is a follow-up post. I got a lot of great feedback on my previous post for suggestions for my first full frame camera. Many of the suggestions were for mirror-less. I have changed my opinion on mirror-less, but have decided to stay with DSLR. I am still stuck on the Canon 6D Mark II, but I would like some crossfire from those that like Nikon. Let's go with pros and cons 6D II vs. Nikon D750! Go!

I really don't understand the draw of the mirror-less. I prefer to have a viewfinder where I can actually see what is in focus. Especially when using manual focus. Can someone explain?

I love the suggestion on the 5D Mark IV! A little out of my price range, but something for me to keep an eye on. The articulating screen is not a deal-breaker for me. I just like the idea of being able to turn the screen inward to protect it from damage. I have some scratches on mine from rubbing against my coat when I first got it. I use screen protectors now.

I would like to stay under $2000. And yes, I will have to buy lenses also. I have found some good deals for 6D Mii bodies with lenses for $900-$1500. Just don't want to limit myself and take the leap if there is something else I should be looking at in the same price range.

I currently have a Canon T2i and I love it. I want to upgrade to full frame and would appreciated some suggestions. I am looking at the Canon 6D Mark ii for these reasons: Higher resolution (26.2MP vs. 18 I have now and 24.3 in Nikon), articulating LCD screen, WiFi, reliability, familiarity, number of AF points, processor speed, and higher ISO rating than price equivalent Nikon. I am open minded, but it must be DSLR; I do not want to go mirror-less. Thank you in advance for all your helpful suggestions/advice. P.S. I shoot a lot of landscape, wildlife and low light situations such as people around campfire and astral photography.

And nobody wants to go to Home Depot and ask for a 3.81 X 8.89. It is much easier to just say, "Hey, I need a 2X4!"

Oh, I see it. The technical specs I was looking at shows EF mount, but when you move over to the 'description' tab it explains as you pointed out. Seems pretty sneaky to me! Thanks for pointing that out. I will be much more vigilant if I even creep into the market for one of these lenses.
-Thanks.

Please excuse my reply, I am not trying to argue. More so trying to understand. This is in the full frame section of the catalogue and is listed as an EF mount, not an EF-S. How can I tell that it is not a full frame lens if I were to shop and purchase a lens like this? Your input is greatly appreciated.
-Thank you.
