Hi, just my two cents worth, that error for that lens usually indicates an aperture problem in the lens itself. Will cost to have it fixed.

Hello sabrejet,
Yes I have a 50s and have been shooting with it for a little while. (Also have canon 5D3.)
Lenses are 32-64 and the 110f2. Both are slow to focus AF but easy to MF.
My comments only
Size and weight and balance suits me.
Sharper results with monopod and tripod. Detail and dynamic range is impressive.
Forget burst shooting
Generally 51mp results in file sizes of about 100mb so sharing can be a challenge unless using something like Dropbox.
Colours and options typical Fuji read great.
For me I use canon for normal walk around, family, groups and individuals and some sport events.
I use 50s for those shots, landscape, specific items, portraits where time for each shot is available to setup and assess conditions and aim for a result.
The 50s has helped me to get away from the spray and pray mentality and put thought and effort into each shot. This has flowed over into the 5D3 as well.

Please note these are my opinion only. Hope it helps. Cheers and happy shooting.

Nice shot! I found myself cropping it to portrait orientation, pushing left and right in, and walking that path into the inner frame.

Thanks all for looking and your comments and advice. More practice and experimentation coming up.

Used monopod to take photo of sand/water discharge pipe structure at Gold Coast in Australia.

We are all watching that guy from South Africa who is going to tow an iceberg from Antarctica to solve their drought problems. Australia is a strange country - in the North we have massive rainfall, floods, cyclones, monsoons etc. and down south we survive on 15" of rain per year. Distance is too far to pump water from North to South.

Hi there, was just driving past a spot I normally drive past to my work yard and happened to have the camera on the passenger seat.
Back in March, with no rain in the hills for over 90 days is the first shot.
Yesterday, after we have had rain for intermittently over the last 30 days (still below average) I thought I would try to reproduce the shot from memory and show the difference.

With minimal cropping managed to almost replicate the position.

I too have recently started using a monopod to help counter the shakes, and it works well

I used to and may still come with Panasonic cameras. I didn't enjoy it when tried it.

Thank you.

Hello All,
Has anyone had any experience with the SilkyPix Raw Converter? It is distributed with Fuji cameras but is able to be upgraded for, they claim, 700 different RAW processes.

Someone's experience could give valuable insight or not the merits or not of this program.

I have been fortunate enough to twist an arm and have a GFX50S to play with for a day so I thought I may try to prove donphotog’s points as to how much sharper or not to a 5Diii. Not a real scientific method but close enough for me.
So a section of brickwork 1.85m from camera bodies.
Both set to ISO 100
Both set to 50mm
Both set to F4 (Fuji max F4)
Canon Tv 180
Fuji Tv 160
Single shot focus
Both shoot raw 4:3 to make full use of sensor.
Mounted on tripod
Fuji mechanical shutter

Canon 5Diii with 24-70L f2.8 -digital.
Fuji GFX50S with 32-64 f4.0 -digital not film.

Results very very similar for sharpness, as donphotog stated, IMHO Fuji just a fraction sharper.

Surprise to me that 50mm on Fuji has marginally wider field of view (very marginal)
No point in posting jpg on forum but if really interested to see then pm your email and I will share a Dropbox link for you to access with all exif data straight out of cameras.
Now to reset and return Fuji.
Kind regards to all, Adrian

Thank you for that. Medium is expensive and the 5Diii is a solid performer.

Hi, just wondering whether many on this site shoot medium format digital as well as cropped and full frame?
Have seen some shots with Fuji GFX50S and their 32-64 lens...wow...sharp compared to 5Diii and series 2 24-70L, another level again?

As you know I am just a novice here downunder.

Cheers, Adrian
