What a difference a little rain makes

AK Loc: Adelaide Hills, South Australia

Hi there, was just driving past a spot I normally drive past to my work yard and happened to have the camera on the passenger seat.
Back in March, with no rain in the hills for over 90 days is the first shot.
Yesterday, after we have had rain for intermittently over the last 30 days (still below average) I thought I would try to reproduce the shot from memory and show the difference.

With minimal cropping managed to almost replicate the position.

That is some contrast.

You should have let us know you were short of rain. We had plenty and would have been happy to share.

We are all watching that guy from South Africa who is going to tow an iceberg from Antarctica to solve their drought problems. Australia is a strange country - in the North we have massive rainfall, floods, cyclones, monsoons etc. and down south we survive on 15" of rain per year. Distance is too far to pump water from North to South.

Russia has an oil pipeline that's about 700 miles longer than the length of Australia, top to bottom. At least that's what I found on the internet. Better get something started before you get too thirsty.

Ohio has just been classified as the newest Great Lake!

Back on topic - that's a terrific study in contrast!

All it takes is a little rain ... or a lot of green paint. That is an impressive transformation.
