Good advice. Thank you. I have Affinity trial right now.

I did the Trial and liked it, but later added ACDSEE and Luminar, which I find I like better than Affinity.

After recently “updating” to 14.3, I had the same issue. First with Apples SD reader attached, the ‘photo’ program failed to open. Then, I found on the upper left corner (in photos) a small box icon, that when clicked it opens a drop down. There you can find the card under “Devices”
I really want to get a better lens for macro. That is how I came across them. They look really neat and I was really interested to see how anyone has used them, and if they like them. Thank you for your opinion on them. I like the looks of the velvet one. They look like something I would be interested in.[/quote
YouTube also has clips and examples from users.
Two other points about drones. If you are required to register with the FAA (heavier than .55 pounds) you must have the registration number displayed on the drone while flying. Also no flights in any US National Park.

I don’t own a drone yet. Thanks for this info. I was wondering about needing to apply reg’ numbers. On Parks ... didn’t know that one too So Yosemite is out. Bummer

Wow replies were quicker than most. I want to share that “There’s an App for that” I use three different ones. ‘PictureThis’ for plants, ‘Smart Identifier’ spiders, and ‘InsectIdentifier’ for other insects.

I’ll have to browse YouTube and find him. I’m always up for a chuckle. I reluctantly switched from PC’s to apple in ‘07 with the MacBook Pro, and haven’t ever looked back. Since then I’m into my third M’book pro, have an iMac on the desk, and iPad pros for work in field. With all of them I’ve only needed to use repair on one M’book that slipped and fell. Apple repaired it in reasonable time, for reasonable cost. For the life of me I will never understand why Anyone with apple products ever go to a PC repair.

I can spend hours in a salvage yard filling up a card. The older the better. I will attach a couple.

It's mid 2020. Are our expensive dslr's going to become worthless? I just saw a full set of graduation photos that were excellent all taken with a phone. These phones can do 95% (my guess) of dslr functions. That along with post processing that does a complete photo makeover seems to be shrinking the dslr into oblivion. Is this the passing of an era?

I know there’s tons of comments, so here’s my two cents. There’s a facet of my work that requires photos to be taken on a “smartphone”. (I do insurance damage inspections). So for that IMOP is good. I only do minimal editing and their off. However, if I want or need to be serious I carry my a7 III. (That replaced my older D200 that was stolen). My iPhone 11 max pro does alright when the Sony is at home. My iPhone 8max is ok for my damage inspections. BUT. I don’t care who makes the camera phone, it will not duplicate the quality of even my old D200 that I loved. Ok... that’s my two cents.

I always use iPads in the field. A iPad 10.7 air connected to camera for the screen. Then For a quick edit and upload, I use my older 10.5 iPad pro with 256g. Storage small but I picked up a LaCie 2tb copilot, I do the edit Make a folder then move to the drive. Afterward load onto the PC for PS. But if there’s more needed before I get back, I have an older 12.9 pro with Affinity. It’s 1tb, and I only load RAW there. But I also load to the copilot for PP at home if can wait. I’ve had the Copilot for about a month and really glad I spent the money. I am waiting for the newer 12.9 iPad Pro To upgrade to. The card reader, yes definitely stick with apple, and you can order online Direct from Apple. Personally unless my dog gets loose I will not walk into a Best Buy. Even if they are giving stuff.

They? The guns? Or they the misguided human coward who misuses and causes great harm? I own several and never have I come home to find my guns waiting to attack. They just stay safely Locked away, in their safes, With trigger locks attached. While the ammo, and magazines all nuzzle together in another safe in another room. THEY... do not cause harm, and are not out in the public brandishing themselves in exhibits of recklessness as that automobile you drive on a daily basis. Guns.... Are Not the problem.
