SAVE THIS MARRIAGE or ASSIST IN THE DIVORSE
I recently purchased a Leica M Model 262 with a Summicron 35mm lens (F2)
My primary purpose for the purchase was utilization of this camera for street photography; thinking that the 262 matched with the Summicron 35 would be a "big" step up from my Canon 5D Mark 3 and Ricoh GR
Candidly, it's been a "rocky" first six months of marriage
So what"s the issue?
I have discovered that my images are consistently underexposed, especially evident in shadow areas
This occurs both in manual AND aperture priority modes
I tested metering, shooting the same subject both in manual and aperture modes, with and without automatic iso and exposure compensation
In all instances underexposure "reared its ugly head
The only way that I can bring back shadow detail (without blowing out highlights) is to add one full F stop of compensation which moves the histogram just to the left of "center"
Ideally, I like to move the histogram to the right of center, but doing so (2 F stops of compensation) blows out highlights
Any ideas?
Any suggestions?
Is there a good divorce lawyer out there?
