But, other than all of that - you like it, right??
He didn't seem to mind?? It was common to take that position if you wanted to shoot any pics. Boom operator laid down (face down) on the "ironing board". He had a chin support cushion and his boom controls were all located under this padded board and the boomer's window was about 180 degrees. Really neat to watch the refueling operation from that vantage point. Ah - the good ole days, eh??
I can relate to that. Been there a few times (Tennessee Air National Guard-KC97) back in the 60's. We used to rotate with other ANG tanker units all over the world. Germany was a full time rotation of ANG units. We used to ferry fighters from US to Germany and/or England. Kind of neat to lay on the boom operators back and watch a fighter refuel. Here is a pilot behind a chrome mask flying a fighter with every known kind of ordinance looking right at you some 30 feet away. You just hope he is having a good day, eh? Ah, the good ole days. Anyone else have that experience?
An ole AFMSG

You did treat him, right?
Monster plastic dog house - cut out the entry to allow it to go inside and an elbow out the back for exhaust.
I believe I would wait and get the one that is coming out within the next couple of weeks. It is bound to be the newest and greatest thing ever and then you would be stuck with a 2 week old cast out.
Are you totally disappointed with your current machine?
Great captures - and you don't even have to have the newest and best equipment to capture wonderful, in-focus, properly exposed shots, do you?
