Are we Nikon 810D owners ready for -: Guys, I am already getting myself prepared to jump in and get a new Canon EOS 5DS R, which will feature a 50.6 MP sensor ! How about you ? !!!!!!

Guys, I am already getting myself prepared to jump in and get a new Canon EOS 5DS R, which will feature a 50.6 MP sensor ! How about you ? !!!!!!

Rumor has it that this camera will soon be released, perhaps, even sometime this week ?

This will not force me to get rid of my Nikon 810D cameras, but how can a guy pass up on getting himself a new Canon 50.6 megapixel camera ? :):):)

I've notified the local warehouse so you can get a bulk shipment of Aux. hard drives. I'll even drive up and we can use my van to haul them home. How's that for a deal? :lol:

Nope - same rumors are that nikon is going to release a 48mp camera about the same timeframe. And why would i give up all my great nikon lens features for a canon body?

Regarding the need for that much resolution, personally I use all the D810 resolution I have for cropping, or for very large prints (i do a lot of panos, maybe in the 4' x 15' range)

Yea, me too and I'm very happy with half the megapixels- try cropping before shooting rather than after. ;)

When I sometimes shoot with a super teleand tc shooting from a fixed outlook and the frame still isn't filled, cropping "before shooting" isn't that easy a proposition ;)

I wouldn't mind having a 50MP camera but its not enough to make me want to switch camera brands..

First thoughts on this camera I read this morning indicated only the newest lenses (released within the past 5-year or less) will work the best with such a high resolution. Older film lenses and the like were not build for a digital sensor at this resolution. The Nikon 800-series of cameras have already shown this issue where weaknesses or outright flaws in the lens become apparent at the 30MP+ resolution.
