Beautiful! Have a look at Little Beach Island, just North of Brigantine. The last uninhabited barrier island on the Atlantic coast. It's now part of the Forsythe Refuge and highly protected. I was fortunate enough to spend a good bit of time there in my teens. Your image takes me back, thanks!
Anna's are year round residents all the way into Southern B.C. I have hordes of them here in Washington. Having trouble keeping the feeders full!
As your friend said there's not enough detail in that pic for a definitive id. Gulls are difficult with good pictures! Have a look at Heermann's gull for a darker sp. They are common here. The most common gull may be the "Olympic" gull, a hybrid of Glaucous & Western gull.
The weather has been beautiful lately and forecast looks good. I'd echo Seabastes suggestions. I'd opt for the 101 trip, but the ride along Hood Canal is also nice. Be aware that the Port Townsend ferry requires a reservation and can be fickle, fog etc. You can show up & hope to get lucky but I've paid the price of waiting too long too often so don't take a chance anymore. You could also take the Kingston ferry to Edmonds, which cuts out Seattle traffic and does not take reservations as boats are much larger, and either take I-5 up or shoot over to highway 9 for the rest of the way.
It looks like a common yellowthroat. Female or immature male.
Something to consider. I bought the Tamron 150-600 a few years ago second hand. It is a great lens but it does gather internal dust. So far it's not affecting my IQ as far as I can tell but it bothers me. So I called Tamron and they quoted me $250. for a cleaning, which would have been covered for free under warranty if I was the original owner. That's just about what I saved buying it second hand. If I had it to do again I'd buy new and have the warranty to fall back on.
Nice captures. That fish is a plecostomus. A tropical fish from South America. People have released them from aquariums and they have populated North American waters.
I would have my house/foundation inspected by a professional for damage.
Don't know if this is relevant to your issue? Have you installed the latest update to Win 10? I did and it caused serious issues. My laptop would just freeze up and I'd have to force shutdown. From my research I found that this update has been wreaking havoc with many. After some googling about the issue I did a clean install of Win 10 and solved the problem.
Nice! The one on the right looks like a ruddy turnstone.
One of my favorite places on Earth! It's amazing what these new phone cameras can do. Beautiful shots all!
Glad you liked them and sorry you missed it in person. From what I read it's a common thing as it's often immersed in clouds. Next time!

Beautiful pics of a beautiful place. I lost rental car keys up there one time a story not to be retold. Don Z.
That sounds like a nightmare. We were in my wife's new car. They don't supply spare tires anymore. Just a can of fix a flat & a roadside assistance number. It's a lone way to anywhere! We didn't have a problem but it crossed my mind. I'll be getting a spare asap.

that really depends on where in the PNW you actually live. A bit further south Mt Hood (11,250 ft) would dominate the landscape
We just moved to Bremerton from Bellingham where Mt Baker was prominent.
