Hopefully someone has an answer for me. As yet, I have not been able to find one. While working in photoshop on a Windows 10 PC the screen automatically reverts back to the desktop in between edits. Let's say I have 3 photos in the cue to be edited and as soon as I finish one the system reverts back to the desktop view, and I have to click on photoshop again in the task bar to go back to it...makes me nuts! All, or any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

BTW, if it matters, and old version of PS and an HP laptop

What version of PS? Have you updated your version of PS?

As crazy as the newest Windows 10 ver. 1903 is making me with printer and networking problems. I have never seen what you are describing (yet, I should just wait long enough). I have a older version of Ps too, CS6. I found HPs to be C%&#. Dell towers for me now. Anyone else have some insight to the OP's problem?

Don't know if this is relevant to your issue? Have you installed the latest update to Win 10? I did and it caused serious issues. My laptop would just freeze up and I'd have to force shutdown. From my research I found that this update has been wreaking havoc with many. After some googling about the issue I did a clean install of Win 10 and solved the problem.

Taking a stab at this. How old is the laptop and how much RAM does it have? Each newer version of the OS typically eats more RAM because it could do more.

Not familiar with PS but is it possible you have toggled a default to close program after each completion? Example I use PowerDirector for my videos and I have choice default after compiling to go to folder or close program.

it's setup to auto update, but it's been doing this from the first day I took it out of the box, and that was a while ago, so it may not seem to be related to a newer update...it's just a damn nuisance

it also happens with other programs, so it's not just connected to PS. I came out of an XP environment and never had these problems, other than the memory limits of XP causing slower overall performance, but this current problem did not exist. After a purchase of a new camera that now has RAW files no longer supported in the XP environment I switched (temporarily) to editing on this Win 10 laptop...surely not my preference though

What do you mean "as soon as I finish"?

Exactly what are you doing when you finish? Saving the file?
