I had a strange visitor on my bird feeder. Unless I identified it incorrectly, it's not supposed to be in Missouri. The attached picture was taken under windy conditions and the visitor didn't stay long. I believe it is a female black-throated blue warbler. The males are nowhere in sight.

See pp 392-3 of Nat. Geo Field Guide to Birds of North America for Carolina wren. The illustration is close to this photo but has a bit more curved billed like many wrens. Coloration and markings though are definitely the Carolina wren though.

The others are House Finches, one male 3 female. (Wondering about gender names for song birds. Cocks, Drakes? Hens?)
The Wren is on the bottom. Seeing a wren on a seed feeder seems a bit out of the ordanary, but cool.

Could be, but look more like house finches. They can be hard to tell apart.

House finches. Curved mandible, tail not notched. Purple males usually have more color down the back but color is not a reliable feature alone.

I have a Wren that come to my feeder, and sometimes comes into the garage. When I call "Carolina" it always looks up. So, I figure it is a Carolina Wren.

Νot really: look at the streaked bellies, house finches are plain.
