Buy a cheap old non-electric film SLR, with operating shutter and mirror, with a really pronounced audible slap, and fondle it and crank and trigger it to your hearts content.
Probably theraputic for blood pressure and mental health.

It's the reason I never parted with my FM2. I love the feel and sound of the camera. I keep telling myself I will use it again some say.

The Snake River has begun its annual runoff with the resulting high water, tons of debris carried down river and so on. I went to the actual Falls of Idaho Falls yesterday afternoon to see what photographs I might take of the runoff.
From the bridge crossing the river on Broadway Street in the downtown area I spotted this Cormorant swimming along the river before it went over the falls. I got a decent photograph from a long distance with my Sony RX10IV using 600mm. I took some other photos far off up the river of the Mormon Temple and then took a look back at the Cormorant. It was standing on top of some log debris with its out stretched wings doing the Bald Eagle routine of being our National Bird. Then came numerous photos of this Cormorant doing the Bald Eagle routine. I hope you like these.

Very nice.

When I took a first quick glance the second photo looks looks like a happy bird, the third bird looks like its related to the devil.

These are the best IMHO.

Up to this point, NOTHING accurate has been posted. One or two posts are just somewhat off. The rest are truly outrageous.

I believe your statement is accurate. I'm glad you jumped in when you did. I was beginning to doubt everything I ever learned ... which ain't much to begin with.

That is the problem with metaphors. Sometimes they don't work, and one only ends up with fruit salad. --Richard

first I am not sure if he still can return it because when he received the bill it's almost a month after the purchase. Second I don't know but I think he has the loan for the month so he should have to pay for the interest.

You said interest ... I heard tax.

Getting old ain't what I expected.

Returning won't save you the interest.

If you return an item that you paid interest on, you certainly should receive the interest.

Even municipalities require an accurate balance sheet.

My point is that in geneeral when one reduces the size of an imalge, one loses pixels and therefore loses information. This loss of pixel information means that reducing the size of an image always leads to reduction in detail if the photo has detail to begin with. Only in rare cases of blank areas of a given color will nothing be lost.

Note that this loss of pixels can never be rreconstructed with accuracy since there is always many combinations of pixels that can result in reduced pixels.

Here is a simplified illustration, an 8 x 1 pixel image, showing this loss of information from the reduction in the number off pixels. --Richard

To clarify, this is not about resizing a JPEG. That would entail the possibility of additional degradation of a previously compressed JPEG.

It about exporting an image at its full size vs. a reduced size. The smaller version would entail some combining of pixels to end up with fewer total pixels than the full size version. Both results would be compressed only once.

I don't disagree. I didn't really think your original post needed further explanation.
