Well if a person knows how to use a flash in different situations, they will come out much better....try it sometime!

I was actually agreeing with your professional camera statement. I guess I could have phrased it better.

I just ordered an X-T4 and am looking for an inexpensive lens to get me started. I can buy a Fujifilm X-fujinar-W f2.8 28 DM from craigslist for $60. Will this lens fit this camera without any adaptors? If not, any recommendations for a starter lens?

I bought mine with the 16-80mm and have no regrets. It is a very capable lens. I also bought a Viltrox 23mm f1.4 for the X-T4 and I have found it a pretty good lens. Not the equal of the Fuji 23mm perhaps but it holds its own and for a whole lot less moola. Here is a review.

Enjoy your new camera.

People are falling for the propaganda from camera companies....a camera that doesn't have a flash is now considered a "PROFESSIONAL CAMERA" or for people who don't know how to use a flash.

Yeh, and yer pitchurs will be much better without it.

About two times a year I say to myself, "It would be nice to have a built in flash", but about 10+ times a year I say to myself, "I'm glad my camera is well sealed and doesn't have a built in flash."

Of course that isn't a problem if you don't shoot outside ---- or your upstairs neighbor's toilet doesn't leak.

There are several cameras on the market that are both weatherproof, and have built in flashes for the rugged outdoorsmen. My Pentax K-5 and K-70 are but two of them. I am sure their are others.

Camera companies seem to think cameras with on board flash is out of style witch is riduclous, a camera with an on board flash is like an artist with an extra brush.

Does any one know the correct part number for the Sony RX10 IV Lens Hood? Sony doesn't seem to specify it anywhere.

Thanks,
John

There is no number on the factory OEM hood. Just the word Sony.

This seems to be either an original or a darn good copy. It looks exactly like mine and mine came with the camera when purchased new.

Seems like new camera bodies with a built in flash are becoming a thing of the past, especially in the upper performance level bodies. While I realize that I can always add a hot shoe flash and the ability of a built in one is limited when compared to what can be done with the add on and/or use of slaves, I still think a built in flash is a nice feature to have available. Frankly, if I know I'm going to be doing flash photography, I will indeed use my speedlight setup, but I really don't carry it along regularly and the use of the built in flash has saved my butt a number of times. This is especially true when I simply need a fill flash to expose the subject rather than the background and I've even been rather successful using the built in flash for some low key photography of flowers, etc. Anyway, a built in flash is far from useless in my opinion and since the manufacturers seem to be moving away from them as an option, I was wondering how others out there might feel about them. Good luck and good shooting to all.

If you enjoy hauling a hot shoe flash every where you then no you don't neeeeeed a built in. But if you find yourself in a situation when some light is required, and you do not have it, then you may miss a chance of a lifetime shot. I own several cameras and only the Olympus and Fuji do not have a built in flashes, but they do have the very small Olympus/Fuji hot shoe flashes attached to them 99.99% of the time. I do have the larger hot shoe flashes to fit all my cameras for the times when I know or have good reason to think I will have a need.

Just my 2ยข.

In the process of washing dishes I was distracted with these lovely air bubbles on the cup. Hope you all are having a nice day

Very nice pic.

Was the cup lying horizontal (parallel to the ground) or vertical (perpendicular to the ground?

you did a good job on the photos. I was there a couple of weeks ago and found the color of light that they had inside the building made getting the colors of the cars right when I got home and looked at them. I ended up with some nice hood ornaments where car color did not matter. How about that Pierce Arrow?

Thanks. The Pierce Arrow or the Ruxton, both beautiful automobiles.

This was taken at the Savoy Museum in Cartersville GA. The car was built by GM/Chevrolet and there were about 3000 +/- made in all. There are only 9 survivors believed to be still alive. A truly unusual car. I am bumping 80 and never heard about this car until last Saturday.

These were taken with a Fuji X-T4 with 16-80 Fuji lens in Auto mode and adjustments in PS 2022.

You can go full frame with Canon RP and lens for the same price and size as the RX10...if you so wish

Is there a single Canon lens for the RP that can go from 24mm to 600mm? I might be interested if I don't have to sell my house. These two cameras are totally different animals entirely. One should get what does the job one wishes to do.

I am an old photography dog and currently own a Nikon D750 and D780 with multiple lenses. As with many posts I see here, the weight of taking multiple lenses on a trip (meaning vacation) is starting to wear on me as I get older (I'm 65). I had a Panasonic FZ1000 several years ago and sold it, and am now kind of wishing I had it back for some of the shorter trips. Having said that.....I've read several reviews on the Sony RX10 IV and the Panasonic FZ2500 and both look to be awesome cameras. But trying to choose which one? Cost isn't really a factor, just want the best pictures I can get. It looks like the Sony might have an edge on sharpness and maybe low light? But not sure. Do any of you have any "real life" experience with these particular models?

I have the Sony and I love it. The Zeiss lens produces terrific images and a very long range of focal length all in one package. A great walk around camera.
