I have seen the term "native ISO" mentioned occasionally and wondered what it is. I have seen somewhere that Canon is supposed to have a native ISO of 160, and that Nikon's native IOS was either 100 or 200 (there seemed to be some dispute as to which was correct). So what is "native ISO", and what significance does it play? Also does anyone know which is the correct native ISO for Nikon cameras, 100 or 200? I did try searching on Google and found some articles that stated Canon native ISO is 100 and that Nikon native ISO is 160, so now I really don't know what is correct. I'd appreciate any help possible.

D3200, D3300, DF, D7100, D750, D610, D5300, D5500 all are ISO 100
D810 is ISO 64

It might have been I went and reshot. It did seem to work! I then applied pressure to the unit to see if was a probable and it still fired. Is this an issue with other triggers (pocket wizard) or just the cheapos? Upgrade soon. Spent all my allowance on ab and accessories 😊

I have never had an issue with Pocket Wizards

Somehow lost 41 images from a new Delkin SD card. Returned to Delkin but they can't recover them although they did see them before they crashed in their process as well. They suggested sending to a professional recovery firm. Anyone you could suggest? I know I could download software at home but my computer skills/confidence are low in that world. Thank you.

Delkin is very good. If they can't recover from their own card then you are probably out of luck. I have never had a problem with them and their cards are all made in USA. I assume that they replaced it free as all their cards have a lifetime warranty.

They are aware of the grey market.
They sell to the grey market distributors knowingly.

Any distributor who sells out of their market is a Grey Market Distributor. If you are in the UK and you buy from B&H it is a Grey Market purchase if the B&H Camera carries a US warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not counterfeit. Its a gray market camera. You can buy gray market cameras at B&H, Adorama and many other stores. They usually are a little less expensive.

Gray market products are exactly the same as USA and made on the same assembly line in the same factories, to the same standards but are sold through different distribution channels.

The only difference between USA and gray market is the warranty. Nikon will not honor the warranty in the US. It will need to be sent to the country of origin to get repaired.

Usually stores like B&H and others will offer their own warranties.

At this point its likely that you have no recourse other than to keep the camera and consider it a lesson learned unless you choose to sell it at a loss.

A lot of people here are rigid in their beliefs and throw up needless alarms. The likelihood of having a problem is slim to none unless you are clumsy and accident prone.

I buy gray market when there is a significant difference in price since I don't buy warranties regardless of the product.

I have been buying photo equipment for about 50 years and so far never needed a warranty claim.

And when I sell the equipment (seldom to individuals) the retail value is the same. Nikon warranties are not transferable.

Its not my intent to plug gray market; just want to clear things up since there seems to be much mis-information in some people's minds.

The store should have informed you that is was gray market so you could decide. I would not buy from them again.

Don't worry, be happy. Its a very good and reliable camera. I enjoyed mine while I had it.

This is all good information and I agree with you fully BUT the Nikon D750 does have a problem and it has been identified by Nikon. In some models, like the two I have, there is a flare issue. On Nikon's site they provide a packing slip and a return label to send those affected back for adjustment and/or retrofit. If the camera in question here has that issue Nikon US will not fix it.

Looks like an interesting little beast. Will have to wait a bit to see IQ
From DPReview:
Nikon has extended its superzoom range to include the Coolpix P900, offering a 16MP sensor and world's longest zoom lens, which is equivalent to a mind-boggling 24-2000mm. It features built-in Wi-Fi with NFC, 7 fps burst shooting, built-in EVF and a fully articulated 3" 921k-dot LCD. The P900 uses a new Dual Detect optical image stabilization system, claiming up to 5 stops of shake compensation.

I started with iPhoto, then went to Aperture, and when Apple announced the support for Aperture was done I switched to Lightroom and found it very easy to move.

The latest version of Lightroom will make transferring all your pictures and adjustments easy.

I myself decided to go with the Adobe Creative Cloud photographers package which is a 10.00 a month subscription for a year at a time and you get Lightroom, Photoshop and a few other apps.

BTW - Lightroom 6 is nearing release, and it will only be available as a subscription. To buy Lightroom you will be at 5.7.

One thing about "the cloud" - NOTHING is stored in the cloud unless you opt for that - all the software is downloaded and installed and runs on your computer just like a store bough package.

Note: Toughest thing about Lightroom is working with a catalog - if you used Aperture as a managed library then you are 90% there already.

Basically, Lightroom must IMPORT images before they can be edited. Like Aperture.

You can download a 30 day trial of Lightroom from Adobe to try.

I have read nothing that states that LR6 will be subscription only. I have read that it will be shipping the 9th and will operate only on 64 bit machines as. Where did you see that it was subscription only? Thanks

What makes the 810 better for the 80/200 lens than the 750?

Nothing. at 6.5 fps the D750 is faster than the 810 at 5 fps. 750 also focuses in lower light down to -.3EV. I use 2 D750's for Hockey and Basketball with a 70-200 2.8 and a 24-70 2.8. Used to shoot with 2 D3s and other that the fact that they shot at 9 FPS I love the weight and low noise of the 750's.

D810 is an ideal landscape and portrait camera

I know there are a few E-M1 users here so I thought that this would already be posted. Maybe I missed it.

Olympus announced yesterday a Firmware update to the E-M1. When updating I also found an update for my 14-40 2.8 Pro series

A few years ago I was looking for an additional camera bag. Something smaller than my normal bag. Anyway I came across some military bags that were made into messenger bags and/or bags for cameras. They had none in stock at the time and apparently I lost the website for the company that made the bags. I think part of the proceeds went to the military.

If anyone can help me find the site I'd really appreciate it. Thanks so much.
