Thank you so much Tina, and I hadn't thought of the leashes that way, but I LOVE that thought. Thank you so much for the kind words.

Hi Bob, thank you.

Just set the appropriate DoF, get the light in the right position, zoom in and shoot.

The settings for that image - Nikon D7000 / Nikkor 70~300 VRII / Focal Length 210mm / ISO 1600 / 1/1000 @ F7.1.

Hope that helps.

Some years back I bought a Minolta Maxxum 7000 and a 24-105 lens. I really liked that extra wide aspect. When I bought a digital later the 24 was effectively a 35-150 (or so). Does anyone make a digital equivalent to 24-105? I now have a Sony that uses the Minolta mount.I

Canon makes the wonderful, silver ringed, efs 15-85. As good as your L, maybe better. It replaces the L on a crop cam. I don't know about the mount. That's why it's often better to stay with the big two. Not because they are better, but for lens selection and availability.
Good luck

Cs6 is the latest. For photo work the main one is Photoshop and video is Premiere. Yes you can get individual programs. Check out this to help you choose. http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite.html. There are other programs other than adobe some very good that are free. It all depends to how deep you want to get into the art.

LOL free is good. I'm disabled and dont get much a month. if you or anyone has links to free software that would rock. Adobe wants way more than i can aford for cs5, Thats why i asked if you can just buy the parts you need. But after looking i cant aford the box it comes in lol.

Thank you. That was Buster. He was supposed to be on the job as my partner, however he had his first of three knee surgeries beginning at the age of 2 years. He was an awesome dog, smartest dog I have ever been around, and an outstanding tracker. Buster loved kids, especially the little 3 year old girl who lives next to us. Six to twelve kids at a time would come to play with him in our yard. Grandmothers would bring their 2 & 3 year olds to have their picture taken with him, he went places no other dog was allowed to go (Buster was a rock star here in our little world). He ended up with two forms of arthritis in his back at six years old. At the age of 5 he had none at age 6 he had the back of a 13 year old dog. The vet said he's never seen anything like it in 35 years of practice. The next night Buster chased a rabbit in our yard and went down unable to use his hind legs. Won't bore you with the rest, except to say it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

C'mon, I know you have one (or more!). You know, that gadget you reach for from the toolbox that you really like because (why?), instead of another one that could do the job better.

I use mostly Photoshop CS5, and mine are (in order of over-reliance):

- Shadow/Highlight. This can do some mighty ugly dynamic compression! (I think it's one of the most overused by others besides me as well.) ;^|
- CMYK curves (mostly because of a print background). Yes, this is good stuff, and works wonders on skin tones, etc., but sometimes I forget it can't fix EVERYTHING!
- Unsharp Mask. I always have to try and set it to less than my eyes tell me I should.
- Brightness/Contrast. How destructive can you get?
- Magic Wand. Instead of the doggone pen tool I SHOULD be grabbing to clip out a background.

Okay? What are yours? Fess up! :)
