Without the best equipment, we're only as good as everyone with a phone.
¡POW!
POW!
So, a high school chum had a great business as a professional photographer in Albuquerque. He won several awards and was doing well. Then, cell phones were updated and produced "good enough" photos for the masses. I called him to schedule a field trip to his studio for middle school and elementary school students, but much to my dismay, he had closed shop, citing that anyone with a cell phone thinks they're a photographer. This is no insult to professional cell phone photographers (and some out there are very good), but he was right. The convenience, especially nowadays, of having a modern cell phone has taken the place of the Polaroid for instant gratification and destroyed photography for the professional studio on many levels. I speak as a professional myself.
HOWEVER, I use my cell phone, too, so there's that...lol... As a professional, though, I agree.

Beta 25 updated...but, not the main program on my end.
Everything is permissible...but not everything is beneficial. "Intent is also subjective," said the first flying wingsuit inventor who jumped off the tallest building in New York in 1912.
"Said his best friend and collaborator at his funeral, 'he really did intend to fly...'"
First, my condolences on your friend's passing. Keep honoring him through photography.
The first thing I do is research online videos, reviews, etc. Next, I talk to photographers I know or to my favorite photo store and talk to people there. Then I lay low for a few days and revisit opinions and videos I've considered. Then, I realize that for any new product I am going to invest in, I should really research as much as I can to whittle them down to the top 3 providers. Then I hem and haw over the whole thing because it is a commitment I'll have to live with for a while. Then I buy the produce and have buyer's remorse, and finally, when the return date has come and gone, I'm happy with my investment...
I moved to DSLR to Mirrorless.
Good luck in your search!

Look up pfd files from the 4H Club online. You'll find a few different ones are out there and are made for youth.
Wow! Great photos, too!
