My wife and I visited a blueberry farm in northwest WA where they also grew flowers. The light may not have been perfect but the flowers were beautiful.

Tim,
Great light and sharp macro. Not an easy thing to achieve considering the flowers always being moved by the wind. Did you use flash on some of the shots?

Peak Bloom of Cherry Blossom in Washington DC from 04/10/15 to 04/12/15. Finally got around to edit these photos. Really crowded with people from all over the world. Seen at least a thousand serious photographers with DSLRs and tripods lined up the edge around Tidal Basin at 5:30am to shoot the sunrise. The Cherry flowers around Tidal Basin were really spectacular. Hope to come back next year.

I did have to make few tough judgement calls about tones of the colors because they were really high contrast so I am sure there will be many difference opinion about them. However, trust me when I say these photos did not even come close to the actual magnificent scenes that I saw. Constructive criticisms are welcome.

Thanks.

The next step after following these tips is using filters (polarized or ND). The will preserve the details (in the sky for example) not getting blown out by long exposure....

I use Adorama Pix for prints larger than my 13" Epson printer will allow and particularly like the prints on metal. Anyone else have experience with them?

I have also used Adorama Pix for few years. With the exception of lost print once (11x17), they are really good in both metallic prints & metal prints.

Thanks so much for your compliment. Nice use of your 17-40 on these photos. Headlights as your subject reinforces the idea of classic curvature in these cars.

Hi OHenry,
Thanks. I was just really draw to those classic cars instead of the modern concept cars and the front end with head lights were my focal points.

Details on your photos are really sharp. I will search the web and try going to outdoor car shows or exhibits around NYC area so I can get up close and personal to those classic cars.

Thanks.

nice pic's the rest of the car would be nice

To Joe West,

Sorry. I could not get close enough to some of these cars. They are exhibited items behind the rope lines and my 17-40 mm lens do not have enough reach.

I really like your first shot...rocks in the foreground, skyline, dual bridges and placement of the sun at this lovey time of day. I see you are in NYC and thought to suggest that if you can place yourself in such a way that the Bridge actually CLEARS the buildings behind it, it might be worth going back... you might have to lie down...:-)

now I wanna find that park.

RiverNan,
Thks for the suggestion. I actually thought about going across the East River to Manhattan on the other side and shot back at both Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges next time. Hopefully it will clear the buildings and the bridges. Maybe in a few weeks.
Also, it is called Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Thanks.

Apparently car shows were the place to be today. Great place to lie on the ground with a camera and look silly. I'm trying hard to not look embarassed when I do it. Comments on these please?? I can take it.

To OHenry,

I know this post is almost 3 years old. However, instead of creating a new post, I would rather contribute my shots into this post so we have collections of good photos. Hope OHenry does not mind.

Really like the attention to details and artistic look of the photos. I am sure that you only picked out few of the best shots among at least 50-100 photos you took at the show.

I just went to the NYC autoshow last Saturday 04/04/15. Instead of editing the new concept cars that already flooded the internet and this forum, I felt gravitated towards the classic cars. For me, design, especially the curvatures of them, are streamline, elegant, and of course, truthfully survived through the test of time.

Here are the shots of those Classic Beauties In RED. One of them is sort of classic Formula 1 Racing car for Madza.

Constructive Criticisms are welcome.

Best Regards,

Bibobe

Great composition and crop in the first photo The b&w photo has a classic look. BTW, the Brooklyn Bridge is still one of the most beautiful bridges in the U.S. if not the world. Traveled it many times in my youthful days, so long, long ago..

Yes. Brooklyn has its timeless aesthetic quality. However, it is also pretty difficult to get any "new" shots from because it has photographed so many times. I guess only in dramatic weather like rain, storm, cloudy, etc...or difference vantage points will make create "fresh" look for the bridge. For me, I tend to gravitate towards Manhattan Bridge, which is just few hundred feet across from Brooklyn Bridge....

Yes. B & W usually look much harmonized more period corrected on classical architecture than color photos.

Thanks.
