Can we please continue this thread of simple? I had to work and didn't get a chance to participate. Sure would like to. Thanks.
Can we continue this forum after today ? I find it interesting and would like to take the time to explore more of it.
Thank you all for your help. I did purchase the book on Understanding Exposure. It has helped me a lot. I will have to play around with the meters and other things and see what happens. Thanks!
I have been trying to get some good pics of my all white dog. They are usually washed out. I have tried my white balance on cloudy. Any suggestions what will help ? I have a Nikon d3200 with a kit lens. Should I try setting the white balance on sunny?
Someone else said it was admin too. Oh well. Enjoy taking pictures anyway!
It did! Manychemo patients complain they have memory issues and can't figure out what is going on. I don't have that excuse either! Ah well, we are all a little crazy and have to be to survive in this world. 😀
Am I just not seeing it, or is there no photo contest started this week?
For those of you who may not know: Costco is based out of Kirkland, WA. Thus the Kirkland brand name. They are a great company to work for. I used to live not to far from their main headquarters.
I live an hour away from Costco. I make a monthly trip to get meat, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. paper towels have 12 rolls, larger than the big rolls at regular stores for about $15. Toilet paper comes in 24 rolls which are huge. Our two person family can go 5 months before we need toilet paper. We also buy their brand Claritin and Zyrtec at about $15 for a year's supply. Much more than just a good place for prints. We also get enough meat for a month, they come in large packages, but we split the packages into smaller servings for the family. I buy a large container of fresh fruit, put it into baggies and use it for smoothies.
These are a couple of pictures taken at the Memorial Park in Columbia, SC.
So sad people have become like this. I sort of had a similar situation last week over taking a photo of a church. The sun shines on the window every morning on my way to work and I like the reflection and design of the window. I was early one day so I stopped to get some pictures. Being careful not to enter the coned off area, I parked, walked to a spot and took a pic. A security guard came out of no where, he Informed me I could not take pictures of the church. I had to erase the pic to make him happy.
I guess we are all perverts/weirdos with cameras.
Cannon, Thank you for your thoughts. Where would I find good information on this 3D effect?
Okay, ai got it! It has taken me awhile but I now know what the camera does when the fstop is set and found a way to remember the correlation to use the DOF to my advantage. Thank you all for your help. 😀
Can you also think of it this way: the larger the number, the bigger the DOF and the smaller the number, the shorter the DOF?
The more I think about my photo, it was in the room with natural light. I didn't want to use my flash. I was on my A setting since I needed to adjust the amount of light to be able to see Leah, thus shortening my DOF. If I wanted her whole body in focus but keep the natural light, I would have to focus further down her body, like her shoulders. Am I right?
If I wanted to back up, I would need to increase my ISO so I could increase the aperture to bring her into focus? Then again focus further down her body to get all of her in focus?
