Hi, beautiful time of year. As the Happy Sailor said, Donegal is beautiful but don't forget on the west coast, Conemara- fantastic for seascapes and mountains. Fairly close to the Giants Causeway is Dunluce Castle, superb! There are many ways and castles along the north coast. If I were to pick out one place it would be Ballintoy Harbour. Used in GOT it is also special in its own right. Don't forget the beaches to the west. If you get the chance take the ferry across to Rathlin Island. Very scenic and you may get some early puffins!
Hope this helps, have a great time
Steve

Looking at the pictures for the AS80C, I do NOT see a locking screw on the 65mm 1/2 Ball Leveling base. My 75MM ones have it, but it doesn't seem to be on the 65mm from what I can tell on the pics.

There isn't a locking screw. The base is secured by tightening the handle

All the best,
Steve

Happy Birthday Tammy 🎁 there are plenty of these to open here. For your first camera I would suggest going to a store and trying a few out. If you find one you like in your price range then go and look on the net for the best deal. Don't forget the used ones!
Wishing you many years of happy shooting.

Great shot! Those two beauties wouldn't be based in Lincolnshire by any chance?

If size and weight are important then have a look at the Olympus 4/3 system. It might be a small sensor, but it packs a mighty image. Take a look at the OMD EM1 mk ii. Super camera and an excellent lineup of lenses.

For outdoor, nature and landscape photography take a look at Outdoor Photography magazine.
Loads of info and interviews, oh and equipment reviews too.

Hi, I use a manfrotto 190xpro and find it to be stable at all angles. However I don't use heavy cameras or lenses being a m43 user. Hope this helps in some way.

Hi, I have only used MPB here in the UK. They have given me excellent service and I highly recommend them.

if mpb is MB photographic.com based in Brighton UK then it is an excellent company. Small family run business with good customer service and all used cameras are allocated a quality mark. I have both bought used and new from them and also sold with no problems.
Fir example: I wanted to sell my Canon 7D Mark 1 and a local business offered me £190 gbp - it has just been picked up from my home for sale to MPB for £300.00.gbp

I totally agree. I have used MPB for a good few years both buying and selling. They are customer orientated. I hope you receive the same service across the pond.
Best wishes
Steve

Go to the Olympus omd em 1 ii. Brilliant camera and system. Lens are tack sharp and compared to the Nikons I had are as light as a feather!
They have given me a new lease of life.
Good luck in whatever you decide.
