Thanks BboH for your reply.
How do you set it? My focus limiter only shows full or 15.
Thanks Howard 5252 & billnikon for your replies.
Info is very helpful.

Thanks again, your information is good.
The lens has a switch for the limiter, either full or 15mm. They say full for close up and 15 for normal pictures.

PixelStan 77 Thanks for your reply, it helped greatly.
Ginny I do not have a Sigma 150-600 lens, just the Tamron.
I am trying to learn everything about my new Tamron 150-600 lens.
I am a little confuse about Focus Limiter, what it means and when I should use full or 15mm. Also what mode is best to shoot in, Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority?
I would also like to try panning when I get better at using the lens. Could somebody explain panning and how I go about using it?
Sorry for these types of questions, but I consider myself a beginner in photography and have a lot to learn.
Any help is appreciated.

I now have my new lens, going to learn all about it and practice a lot with it.
Tomorrow I am going to pick up my new lens.
It is a 150-600 Tamron Lens with a Canon Mount to be used with a Canon Rebel SL1.
I already have the 18-270 Tamron Lens and love it.
If anybody uses the 150-600 lens please tell me what you think of it. I have seen good reviews on it.
Can't wait to use it.
Thanks for the advice.
A tripod would be hard to use as it will be very crowded with lots of people walking around.
Thanks Linda & Bob for all the info.
I will be going to a Shrine which does not turn on Christmas Lights until after dark, around 5:00.
The lights are all different colors.
I normally shoot in Aperture Priority Setting.
I will be using a Tameron 18-270 Lens.
What would be the best settings to use to get good pictures of the lights.
Thanks for all your replies.
I was out shooting this morning at the beach, was having fun until the rains came, still I think that I got some nice shots for a beginner.
I got a good deal on my lens from my local camera shop. It was marked down and also got a $125.00 mail in rebate.
